It seems the prize money has not yet been published. Has anyone seen the list?

One thing that DigitalPool does is compare performance against FargoRate. Here are the 9-ball players who played the farthest over their rating. I've only included the ones who are over 500 and played more than 20 over their rating.

I wonder if that's the right David Matlock.

Hayden Ernst played 78 points over his current rating.

Joshua Filler played only 7 above his rating, which is a little surprising.

... I wonder if that's the right David Matlock. ...
FargoRate's data base has David Matlock from TX with a FR today of 545 and Dave Matlock from Olathe, KS with a FR of 708. Given that the DCC "Effective Rating" was 708, and that the David Matlock at DCC beat players with FargoRates of 561, 602, 663, and 787 (Joe Prince), I'd guess that it was the well known Matlock at DCC and they just pulled up the wrong FR for him.

[unless someone says he moved to Texas]

My son and I were there for a few days. There was a player in the event that had the name Matlock on his jersey and he was a large man. Not the Dave Matlock that we all think of when it comes to pool.
Hmm. The Texas Matlock is at FR 545 today, but his robustness is only 237. If that is the Matlock who was at DCC, and if his skill level is really near 545, he had a heck of a DCC!

Edit -- YouTube has a couple videos of Dave (the KS Matlock) at the 2026 DCC playing Banks matches.

David Matlock is listed as playing in all three DCC major events. No other Matlock is listed.

So that settles that. Kind of humorous that a Banks video I saw showed Dave with the 543 FR. I wonder how many years ago it was when he played at that level. Probably more than 50, unless he started late.

Here are some stats for the three major events. These are derived from DigitalPool match data. That is known to have errors, but mostly seems to be correct. A few match results were only partial, and were listed, for example, as 80% complete.

It appears that there were about 775 total players. Multiple players were listed by different names, like Lee Van/Vann Corteza, in the different events. I think I found most of the duplicates. Several others pairs of names differ only by having a middle initial in one of the names.

It's interesting that the average times of the matches are so close, and the nine ball and one pocket are almost equal.

I'm actually surprised in the other direction. I would've thought the 9 ball would have ever so slightly(would've guessed 8-10 more minutes avg) longer match times than 1pkt. Think about it, 9 ball is less often a blowout. We see one pocket matches over in 30-40 min more often due to lopsided matches. At least that's my feel on it.

They want to shorten the event so bad, less 9 ball players has always been the answer... One Pocket isn't the problem at all.

Well, I don't think they have to do anything like that.

One stat I didn't repeat from an earlier thread was table utilization. To the extent that the match times from DIgitalPool can be trusted -- and errors in both directions have been reported -- the table utilization was only 63%. If that's true, all they have to do to finish nine ball about 5PM on Saturday is keep the tables 15% busier, or about 80% utilization.

Is that to say that 37% of the time tables aren't in use? Am I reading that right?
This is the average over the whole of all tournament playing time up to when it started winding down at nights and on the final Saturday and there were not enough matches to fill the tables. During that active tournament time, on average about 1 in 3 tables had no match being played on it. If all of the tables had been kept full, they could have had 50% more matches in the same time.

Does this take into account the later rounds when there simply aren't that many matches to be played or are we talking mostly about rounds 1-5 range when there's loads of matches in the queue? Interesting there would be that much wasted time.

Another stat not considered is that coverage of the event sucked 1000% without AccuStats, who by the way would have kept, and provided more accurate stats of the event. Not to mention far superior camera work than the wretched 1 angle distant view of the matches, a regression instead of progression that was endured making this event lack luster
