Dumping - caught

I put this in the Action Room forum but figured it deserved to be posted here for those who do not frequent the subforums.
A lot of sh*t blowing up on Facebook as two guys who have been traveling all over the country and taking off big scores were just blasted for arranging a dump. It appears clearly that Sam Gilmer and Thomas Haas coordinated with Joao for him to dump. They were even giving 2-3 games on the wire to up the money they could win knowing they were guaranteed the whole time. I do not share information of this nature that could so greatly damage someone's reputation without high confidence. People are returning money from the match left and right at the moment. Somehow an individual got Thomas Haas' phone and photographed the conversations clearly laying everything out in advance and showing they were all in on it. I know this happens all the time, but it is always a sad day. If you want to find it for yourselves, I left a screenshot of one of the groups with the actual messages.

Kids always looking for the shortcuts.

It seems to be a generational thing. It seems for those 35 and under, that you need the jaws of life to pry their phones away from them.
You'd think pool would've learned its lesson by now.
Speaks volumes about the characters playing this game.
Short memories.

Can not believe Thomis did this. He’s literally the nicest guy you’ll meet. Always polite. Doesn’t even swear. Hell of a players. He’s been winning big money . Just took down the amateur at the expo and then won another 20k that night gambling so he didn’t need the money. Text don’t lie though.. he did it. Would love to know what was going through his head.
crap going through his melon

people steal things all the time even so called honest people will bend what they know isnt right at times.

having gotten caught in dumping people which is a personal thing, then they need to refund all money won back to anyone who lost.

they may not want to and keep what they so called won or may not have it all for various reasons but the people that were directly involved since caught need to pay back immediately . and if smart will make an apology.

and since proof is there and not just suspicion, then those that lost have a good case for filing a police report as it is a felony with jail time.
and the threat of that happening immediately should get a return of the money.

Those that profit from the dump should beware the Double Dump.
I did have an opponent request a deal before the action. It was a 3 round boxing match for a grade. His proposition sounded something like this, "how about we just go into the ring and patta cake. Take our C grades and move on?"
I found his request offensive, yet said "ok".
At the opening bell we touched gloves. I stepped back and planted to deliver my most powerful overhand right. With 16 ounce gloves at 150 lbs and headgear it still rang his bell. Kinda my way of saying, "patta cake this." We went 3 rounds of exclusive offense and both got an A grade.

I agree. To be Captain Obvious: I hate this, and take offense. It’s a shame but these guys will wear this banner for quite a while to come. I’m glad of it.

Because yapp is a pro and this some amateur gamblers.. pretty simple.
Lack of integrity is lack of integrity.

What he did wasn't a "mistake", it was pre-meditated. What Yapp did was not planned, it was in the heat of the moment and he seemed unsure of the call and was waiting for the ref. But yet, he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt. While players are literally scamming out here. It's nasty work.

Regardless of them being "amateurs", it sheds a negative light on pool, yet again. As if we needed more of that. I would hardly call a 725 Fargo an amateur though.

It's okay though, this will all blow over when Thomas gets on Team USA in the Mosconi Cup in 5 years. Pool has a short memory.

This guy is 125 Fargo points away from the top pros. He was basically unknown until the last few weeks. I don’t think we need to worry about him making the Mosconi team and it’s no surprise people are more invested in what yapp is doing.

Lol yeah, it was a joke, that is for sure NOT happening. But Buddy Hall still got into the Hall of Fame, so anything is possible.

Buddy Hall vs. Mike Lebron: 1991
Buddy Halls gets inducted into the HOF: 2000

This is not meant to slander or disrespect Buddy Hall, I am just stating facts.

One is a pro player .. the other is some amateurs so of course the pro who more people know is going to get more interest. Lol this isn’t hard. Your correct both are bad but of course the famous world champion is going to garner more attention then a couple kids hardly anyone knows.

True. Outside of this forum, I doubt anyone actually cares about either incident lol.
