I have a sneaking suspicion that the gag-order on said "rumor" will be lifted soon.

The fact that the announcement doesn't even mention anything about the cheques really shows how far up on KT's priority list paying the players really is. It really is an insult towards the players, intentional or not on their part they could have said something, even the typical annoucement of an announcement would have been better than nothing.

IT'S REAL! CUT&PASTE FROM IPT WEB SITE: http://www.internationalpooltour.com/ipt_content/event_schedule/default.asp

IPT Announcement

The International Pool Tour's Masters Championship, King of the Hill and Tour Card Tournaments are officially being rescheduled. These schedule changes are due to many factors, many relating to the Ho Interactive acquisition and financing schedule being pushed back due to recent legislation signed into law relating to online gaming. New dates for these events will be published in the coming days as the IPT event team is in contact with each of the venues. Tentatively, the IPT is targeting February and March for these tournaments and they will most likely be held in Chicago.

The IPT offers its sincerest apologies for those players and fans who have already made travel arrangements to attend these events. Players who have played in qualification tournaments and won qualifying spots in the 2007 Tour Card Tournament will be contacted shortly with the new dates. Again, the IPT apologizes for the inconvenience. Due to the fact that the IPT Masters Championship needs to be played in order to complete the field for the Tour Card Tournament, it was impossible to keep this event scheduled as-is.

Please note that these events are not cancelled, but rather in the process of being rescheduled. The moment that new dates are secured, there will be an announcement made. It is expected that within a couple of days new dates will be secured for each of these events. The Masters Championship will still be considered a 2006 event, thus prize earnings in that tournament will be reflected on the Money List for 2006.

(Well, so much for that)
Interesting…

The IPT website now redirects to an Indonesian online betting site.
Of course it does. 😂 Is it owned by Stanley Ho?

I was going through footage of interviews and had to do some dialogue correction and thought I’d check AZB to see if my timelines are correct.
I loved this interview Mike P got from Trudeau. He didn’t sugar coat and asked hardball, pertinent questions.

I recently watched an episode of VICE, where the topic was “kings of the 80’s-90’s TV infomercial boom” in which Kevin was both topic and interviewee. Very enlightening.

Yeah, Mackey made out with the money after the lawsuit.
He was with the PBT(A), which was more or less gone by the IPT. Related to which, here is a contemporary article:

you're confusing IPT with the PBT, totally different deals. Mackey was the PBT commissioner when they went bust. https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/don-mackey.170003/
?No. I’m not confused nor conflating the two.
Don Mackey sued and received $800K, which none of the players ever saw. (Unless he kicked back some $ to some he was tight with.)

What happened with the IPT had nothing to do with Mackey. Two different times, two different situations.

Kevin was featured in an episode of American Greed. The IPT was part of the story. Worth watching if you haven't seen it.

I met him in about 1995. Mike Sigel introduced him to me. Kevin pitched me on some kind of multi-level marketing scheme.

Not the kind of guy I wanted any business relationship with. I was surprised when I later learned Deno was working for him...
