ive woofed all my life. but you dont belittle and insult a person more than a tiny bit if at all. especially one who is an equal and you deal with regularly.
and to do it on live streaming is very wrong. and certainly doesnt make them want to have anything to do with you.
that may be the way to make them want to fight you but not gamble with you.

plus he is a sucker/(bad gambler), and will always be near being broke and just might need some help sometime from svb and dont expect it coming.

and if you make people not like you then they wont play you. and that's a fact.

In the video it seems to me like Chohan was frustrated with SVB not wanting to play him after offering to gamble multiple times.

Has to be annoying to have one of the best players in the world tell you no over and over again. Maybe Tony thinks he has the best of it.
Is it possible his backers had a say in the matter?

Alex is always tough action but his best years are behind him and today's young talent have surpassed him. He needs to duck the top guys...even in one pocket.
Well you’re entitled to your opinion even if it is ill informed. You say today’s young talent have surpassed Alex, yet they won’t play him even at one pocket and ask for a spot. 🤔 cool story bro

if you feel a guy is better than you or equal to you its stupid to play without a spot. you gamble to win and you dont win without an edge.
all you do by playing someone equal to you even is ruin your future action from others.

I'm afraid whatever you may have heard is now outdated. Alex is on the decline and those two guys are improving by the day.

We're talking about on the decline compared to world class play. Not just world class. But anyone above 800 Fargo is literally pushing the limits of what's ever been done on a pool table.

I don't find Tony's woofing that bad. It's what I would expect, at a minimum. The only thing that turns me off about it is the social media aspect. If I randomly walked into a room and witnessed that I wouldn't think twice about it. He was injecting some self deprecation and a bit of humor, particularly with Alex, which kept it fairly light in my opinion.

Shane should take him up on that; I think he's a better 1pkt player anyway. Just watched Shane crush Fedor in One Pocket on YouTube. He was playing amazing. Shane played great One Pocket at Derby too. He should strike while the iron's hot, or not. Interesting post this is.

Shane could've got some weight sense Tony is so hungry.

Not a matter of “heard”. Chohan wanted 9-8 to play him last week. Shane asked for 10-8 at the Derby a few weeks ago. So is that decline of Alex and the improvement of those 2 players something that occurred yesterday or something? Many call Chohan currently the best 1P player in the world but he needs a spot. SVB? Well let’s say while he is talented at all games his 1P game is real average given his speed.

Asking for a spot if you’re playing a stronger player is called common sense. Asking for a spot against someone you’re even with may be considered “savvy” by some, and Nit logic by others. If you won’t get in the Box even against a player of equal skill level, then you don’t need a spot, you need a heart transplant.

Yeah Shane is top 3 or 4 in the world pretty average.

I’d personally bet (and have!) against Tony if he were to play again: Shane, Busty, Dennis, Filler.

I don’t recall if he played R Gomez before, but I’d bet on Gomez too today. Gomez has played a lot of one hole the past few years.

I also bet against him 15 years ago and won when he played Gabe. Obviously Gabe is not a current bet…

Obviously Tony’s a great player, but he’s like Frost. A one pocket specialist who’s ball striking accuracy is well below the top rotation players.

It’s balls and a stick. The better ball striker will win with a reasonable amount of experience.

Filler went from not knowing how to spell one pocket, to one week later destroying Shuff, a one pocket specialist.

Then a month later beating Tony.

Efren did the same in the 1980’s.

Busty and Alex the same in the 1990’s.

Any top pro that takes up one pocket will be the favorite very quickly.

I know he’s a hero to many here. As a 5 time US Open 9 ball winner he’s one of the best ever at that discipline. He’s a great banks player and 14:1 player. Not top 3 or 4 in one pocket though and to reiterate my original post, given his level/speed at other games, his 1P game is average in comparison. It’s not judgement, just a simple observation.
