Your stuff safe at the pool hall?

Or those that sit down at a bar, throw their ten pound ring of keys over the top of their money, have their cellphone next to it and then leave it all unattended. 🎱

    School or Viking

I think you are asking about attending a pool school or buying a cue. The cue will not make you a better player. The school may help you develop a good stroke and a few basic fundamentals that will be more valuable in the long run as you can always buy a cue but can't make up for wasted time...

    foul or not ?

I think the top of the rail is considered part of the table and if the ball returns to the bed it is considered legal as long as it doesn't hit anything like chalk on the rail. From the BCA rules 3.28 BALLS JUMPED OFF TABLE Balls coming to rest other than on the bed of the table after a...

So, What Do You Suppose Is Happening Here?

What is even funnier or worse is to check the other items that the seller has listed. He has a bunch of original hand painted pictures that look like a 5 year old did with crayons...

Your stuff safe at the pool hall?

I seen people walk around and take the pennies off the tables. I lost a BK cue that someone took while I was playing. I now lay it under the table until I am finished playing. I caught a few trying to take my cue from my holder while sitting next to it. One claimed that he wanted to check...

    Super Billiards Expo

If you are there the opening night get into the warm up tourney. It is a great time and a opportunity to win some cash. Be prepared for some good competition. The Senior division isn't a cakewalk. I have heard a few players being disappointed as they couldn't wait until they were old enough...

    Serious question

Apparently it is based on the cost of the shaft and nothing to do about if the shaft is better or not concerning performance. 🎱

    joss west cue

The problem that I have with playing in a bar league with a nice cue is no one respects it. They will lay their cue against yours in your cue holder. Walk by and knock it over. One person even moved my cue out of my holder to put his in. People will push chairs into them when in the holder...

    Delta 13

I have the cheaper Delta model. My concerns is the wear on the balls when rubbing against the metal moving the rack onto the spot. The other is the potential of a ball being chipped if accidentally slipping out of my hand when placing in the rack. 🎱

    Practice and such

I see that you are in PA. You should consider going to the SBE. There are many cue makers and vendors selling cues. Take your time, visit all the booths, talk to the cuemakers, vendors and try different cues. It may and can get confusing and frustrating but you will end up with a cue that...

    Kaiser cues?

A good way to clean the shaft is to steam it and wipe with a micro fiber cloth and continue a few times. There are videos on UTube. Then burnish, you may also need to sand with a very fine paper like 1000 or 2000 before burnishing. Some have had good results with the Magic Eraser. 🎱

    8 ball rules question

Appears as if you are playing in a bar against bangers. I have always found that those types will always come up with a way to challenge a win. In one game the 8 ball was next to the rail 1/4 of the ball blocking the pocket. One of my balls was behind it along the same rail. I caromed a...

    Do the Filipinos give back?

What is there to give back? How many make millions a year? They are not like pro atheletes in the major sports that make millions a year and are rooted in the city that they play for. I am sure that the majority could qualify for federal assistance based on their earnings after expenses. 🎱

Wishing there were more bank tourneys

How true. About 10 years ago or so many casinos in Vegas were closing down the poker rooms because of lack of interest and players. They started to show the Texas Hold Em tournaments on TV and had prize money of over $1 million. Everyone seen this as a easy way to make a lot of money and soon...

Wishing there were more bank tourneys

That applies to any sport. Everyone wants to watch the best unless it is your child, relative or friend that is playing. 🎱

    Changing southwest cue weight

My SW weights 19.5 oz. and it feels perfect. Nice balance and feels lighter than my cues that's weight 19 0z. I never specified any of the specs other than shaft size, taper and woods. I told her that she knows how to make them and respect her ability and judgement. A friend of mine had...

    Break speed.

Get a faster cue. One that is more streamlined. Polish and grease it up and use breaking gloves. :rotflmao: Speed is not as important and CB control. I seen Earl really crack into a rack and come up dry. Others doing the same and the CB would fly off the table or end up in a pocket.

    referring to notes

Where are the notes and who wrote them? Don't think it is legal as someone else may have wrote down the notes about what to do and it would be coaching. The same would be if that person got on his phone and texted to someone to get some suggestions. 🎱
