Just an update, I did get a chance to play last night with a McDermott G Core on one of my cues and it was ok. It didn't take too much to get use to, my question how does this compare with a 314-2 or X Shaft in feel and playability?

I would say unless there is a physical reason not to you should always try to get the fundamentals right first.

Both are pretty good cue makers, personally I really like the Lucasi Hybrid series it plays really well. The one thing a few people have said is that it takes a little while getting used to the wrap on these, but when you do it's as good as it gets. I don't think there is a lot in it personally...
