It has been suggested before that Ms. Etta James, who just left us a week or so ago, may have been the daughter of Minnesota Fats.

Short of DNA testing, I don't think anyone could say for sure but the resemblance, at the very least, is amazing.

Here's hoping you are with your daddy in a much better place.

I guarantee, anyone who clicks on the link below, will have a better day for having done so.

It doesn't get any better than this:

Etta had a powerful voice right to the end. One song that I have of hers is At Last and will always remain to be one of my favorites.

I know that when there is a bias, you tend to find things that support it.
But when Etta squints and then closes her eyes...I see Rudolph Wanderone
gettin' ready to tell one of his tall tales.

.... but I suspect she also had a fondness for Kickin' Chicken...
...and I'm basing that assumption on this right here...

RIP Etta James

I was lucky enough to see her perform with BB King in Seattle a couple of years ago on BB's 82nd birthday. What a show!!

I'm not too sure how it was, either a picture of Etta in a Fats movie, or a picture of Fats in a Etta movie. It brought the rumors to life for sure though. It might have been Cadillac records with Beonce playing Etta, and a pic of Fats on the wall. Incredible music there also.

It was interesting to note that every news service, including CBS Sunday Morning, when they did a tribute to Etta James, Fatty's name and possible connection was mentioned. I'd like to believe she was his daughter. As mentioned they both are missed by many!

Wiki:

Etta James, the great singer, passed away. She always said she was the daughter of Minnesota Fats. Go to google images for a picture of the two. It will convince you. They really looked alike.

Fats was in California in 1938 when he met her mother...
