It is to my amazement that they are people here in this forum that actually supports illegal immigrants in this country.. Well maybe Uncle Sam should increase your taxes to support them.. My taxes should only support US Citizens and Legal immigrants not illegals..

It has a nice little history of immigration in the USA. I found it rather interesting that what appears to be the original law regarding immigration, the Naturalization Act of 1790, states that "any alien, being a free white person, may be admitted to become a citizen of the United States" (my bolding). Things seemed to tighten up in the late 1800s when the Feds took control of the immigration system. Zip past a bunch more significant immigration law passed through the centuries to 1968 when the laws were ammended to eliminate US immigration discrimination based on race, place of birth, sex and residence. It also officially abolished restrictions on Oriental US immigration (put in place in 1882).

So I believe that your laws, good bad or otherwise, have been around for a long long time, the issue is you have an extremely long unprotected border (or two :D ). So watch out for all those illegal Canadians down there. We're really sneaky about it, we blend in so well you'd never know ... we've even infiltrated your daily televised evening national news on more than one occasion !

Again, I think it's really jumping to conclusions to say the illegal immigrants stole the Tiger trailer.

Dave, did I mention my mom was from North Dakota ? The Canadian government finally busted her after 30 years in the country when she had the nerve to apply for a Canadian passport !

How were the trailers parked in the two different thefts? Just in the lot? Or were they locked on a car/truck hitch? I mean if they were 'blocked' in, it would take a bit of work to get them out.

Do you know that there are illegal immigrants collecting welfare and partaking in our school systems? And now some state government are helping out illegal immigrants to purchase homes.. I wonder where that kind of funding comes from if its not from taxpayers!!

Heres a good one:
My son, who speaks wonderfully for his age,4, was just recently rejected to go to a state-sponsored pre-school program because he cant speak spanish!! Go figure....

You are applying 21st century political correctness to laws from over 100 years ago. Get with the times girl, and the times were 1880 ! And remember, women were not allowed to vote at that time ! It wasn't until 1890 that Wyoming became the first state to allow women the vote in all elections :p

Since when is the word Oriental became a racial slur?? BTW, Im Asian/Oriental and I dont take offense to that but if someone says ch*nk.. then thats a different story...

Apparently it is a residual sensitivity, possibly due to the issue that it is a European word used to describe a specific group of non-Europeans. Very often people don't like how other people describe them, they have quite a different perspective of themselves. There are several cultures in Asia where a caucasian person like myself would have been (and maybe still is) considered and called a 'barbarian'. It cuts both ways, but we as individuals have only one viewpoint, and we are always right in our minds. I know I am ;)

A person is Asian. Oriental is used to describe food, furniture, et cetera.

It always amazes me how people get so offended by a word if used by someone other than thier own race..... :rolleyes:

I wonder if Charlie Williams gets offended when a white guy calls him Charlie????

I would never call another person an Oriental, and am offended when referred to as an "Oriental" myself. To people who are ignorant to that, I politely correct them.

These people will work for pennies a day, and keep the US citizens that will work a days work for a days pay from making a buck!!

Sure there are lazy americans and gangsta wanabees that will milk the system, but there are a lot af hard working people that only need a chance to earn a living, that are denied such by these ILLEGALS!!

So wait let me see if I understand this correctly. You run one of these offices that send out labor, some skilled some not, to a contractor. One of these guys you pay 10-12 dollars an hour but charge a contractor 25 / hr. Is this correct? I see where you would feel threatened by this surge of day laborers.
Now I don't know what its like in Fla, but I can tell you in NJ they ain't working for pennies a day. In fact they don't work for less than 10 hr. Does the last paragraph pertain to YOU or your workers.. or both. :)

Oriental or Asian - they are both Mongoloid. An Oriental can be considered as those that are east of the Mediterranean Sea and An Asian as East of the Ural Mountains.

I take no particular offense when being referred to as and Oriental, though I am a Japanese American, but my wife does. On the other hand I think I prefer Asian Cuisine to Oriental Food, although cuisine is a method of preparing food. I also prefere the American dish Chop Suey to Japanese Sushi.
