well heres what i think i might have to do.because i do not know what day exactly is good for everyone and the table accomodations are going to be ,im just gonna work it like this. im going to go to the derby and get a feel for where and when would be the best day time and place.im figuring on doing it on the 4 th or 6th but im not sure yet.once i get there i will make a announcment and let people sign up for a couple days until i get 10 people then we will do it.i know this is not the best way to do it but the derby is such a circus that i dont want to make plans for certain days and piss people off because the tourneys will not allow it. i will take 10 people max for 4 hours for 100 dollars it will just be a first come first serve type thing. again thanks everybody for your interest and hope to see a bunch of you..

John I would be interested but if I'm able to make it to DCC it won't be until the 9th so if you decide to do a second one I'm in.

John I will be there from the 3rd to the 12th. Count me in. You can email me here or Ill intro myself to you when Im there.

i got an idea. since me and many other 14.1 players will be at the derby i want to put this out there and see what kind of response i get. i will do a 4 hour 14.1 clinic with the first 5 paid people.the fee would be 100 per person.i would prefer it to be people who have never run 100.that way im not showing you things you should already know.i plan on doing it early in the day if possible with as much privacy as we can find.i plan on running 50-100 for everyone and explaining exactly how and why i shoot the balls off the way i do.i will also give anyone who wants one my dvd of me running 245 for free if they are part of the clinic.looking forward to seeing you at the derby.

MR. 400; I LOST TO WILLIE SO I SHOULD BE INCLUDED BEFORE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!! SIGN ME UP JOHN.

I'm jealous. Period. I can only regret I can't make use of that brilliant idea by John. Good luck to you guys who manage to attend the clinic.
John, I you could only know how I was desperately hoping for similar thing for me in Manila... I wish you make it to the WPC next year and go there, not only for teaching me 14.1 but for quarterfinals at least!

John,

If you can (and the people there don't mind), I would suggest that you tape the lesson and sell it. I wish i was able to go and attend. I would glad pay $100 to be part of that. Also, how about doing some videos on how to play the diffrent break shots and clusters.

More info out there the better.

John,

You mentioned something about making an instructional DVD. Let me and the forum know if one is available or when it would be available.

I would definitely be interested

hi

turns out i probably will not film it for several reasons.if i get there and the situation works out that we can film it we will for sure.i am still planning on doing the clinic though 1000 percent for sure.

Hi John,

John : Figured on a date yet?

If you want I can set up my camcorder on a tripod and then let you have the raw footage. My sony holds 60gig so it should be plenty. I'll have it with me just in case.

This is an insane offer. I must find a way!!!

Wow I got to pull away from the responsibilities... must break the restraints...can someone talk to my boss? Must find the strength...my wife needs me I know...my game needs this I know.

(Running down the hall voice decreasing in volume while moving away) NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John great idea id love to get the insight of a champion. what im wondering is do you think you could add a extra day or increase the size from 5 to like maybe 8-10? As you can see there is quite a bit of interest in this.

hi

yes there seems to be alot of interest ,im thrilled.im going to do about 10 people the first clinic and if needed i will do another 10 people the next day or whatever is suitable

hi

the action guys just told me anyone who goes to my clinic will be given 25percent off merchandise .i just want to say thanks to them and im looking forward to showing people how i play 14.1 . ive had around 40 pm on this clinic so i might do one a day well see how it goes.bye for now

JS,
Having been part of several similar clinic sessions with top pro's (including a couple here at Betmore's Basement), I offer this comment.

Past groups seemed to work best with 5 players (the size you initially mentioned). If the participants have the opportunity to ask questions (either during or between racks), then the sessions have been well worth the money....a great way to see how the pro's think.

With a session size of 10, you may find some of the benefit will be lost, or find that the session bogs down. Many people responded based on your initial estimate of 5 per session. In any case, I just thought I would mention that sometimes the larger class size is not well received. I do wish you success whatever you decide, and hope that I can participate.

Good luck at DCC.

I thought the exact same thing and was all revved up for a five person session. That's what was initially advertised.

10 students, no way.

Having said that, I have no doubt that for many, perhaps at a more rudimentary 14.1 "101 level," a 10 or even 20 person session, would be great.

Maybe, if John is willing to make himself available, there could be a more limited "300 series" course for the more advanced players. Hell, I'd even pay extra if he'd limit course size to like two or three or five players, who were all sometimes 100 ball runners.

LF,
You make an excellent point that I failed to mention. Such sessions definitely work best if the players are of somewhat similar ability levels.
