Since there isn't any added money, the establishment should open the tables and not charge table time. The owners are getting the recognition and potential extra business that should help their bottom line.
I was wondering the same thing. This thread has a picture.

They should also serve free beer and cut my lawn every week this summer.
We all know that pool room owners are rolling in money. They've got so much of it that they're having to close because they can't handle all the money that's coming in.
Guess a lot of posters haven't heard of a business' overhead? Something has to pay the bills!
The Calcutta won't be very big in this event. The field is to even/competitive, that kills calcuttas lots of times.
I'd bet it don't hit 10k
It won't hit 10 k anyways around here. I guess more like 5-7k. Only a few guys around here will bet $1000 on a player. I do know a couple corporations have been formed already to buy some people though.
i bet they have some good side action going onY'all ever been to an event with 16 Stake Horses?
Ray
Nope, the beer is where they will make the money, and the VIP seats, and the food, plus the exposure, etc. As far as cutting your lawn, you will have to talk to them about that. I've been around this game for a long time and played many tournaments. Look at the the tournament announcements in AZ. How many tournaments don't have added money as a draw? Most at least add the green fee's back. It's been a norm in the industry for as long as I can remember.
Yep, see quote above. I like what they are doing. It reminds of the 2 $3000 entry ring games that Dan had in Olathe several years ago. (Tables were open btw). It's a unique format that hasn't hurt them because they were able to get 16 players. I'm guessing most of the players are being staked to get into the tournament. I like it. It's great and I'll probably buy the stream and support Ray or hell I might even drive down there and watch it. But, with that said, it's still a bit cheap not to open the tables for a $2000 entry tournament with no added money.
I will be there.. and my bro sky will getting the cash and i hope he buys me the lunch he still owes me....lol its going to be a great tournament to watch live and on stream. so dont miss out are you will be sorry you did.....
As I said earlier......some people just don't understand business!..
[/QUOTE]I'm sure you don't care what I think, but I've talked with a lot of people regarding streams lately. No way should your streams be free, but you are pricing yourself right out of events.
The giveaways are nice additions, but once again people pay to watch pool, and the prices are a bit high.
