Do you know who won between Danny and Jhall?
I don't have to do anything to discredit you buddy....your comment about Diamonds does that for you....this event just played was played on 7 FOOT VALLEY TABLES!!!
And for the record, you have no idea what I've done to help better this sport![]()
Diamond sells quite a few of these "joke" tables,I guess they are harming pool?
You may have..... But not through those types of statements
Even if you do something to better the sport , knocking an event helps nothing
There's far to much of that on this forum
Well Jay weekend after next another 16 man 2k entry race to 15 but 8 ball on Diamond 7ft Pro cut pockets Simonis 860 HR cloth almost every thing you ask for in that post lol

Events like these do nothing to help this sport out what-so-ever, they are simply for entertainment of the viewers only!
Really? This is like 16 of the world's top golfers playing 72 holes at a local miniture golf course.....LMAO
Thank you, I'm very aware of this event. Like I said we will see more events like this in the future, small select fields of top players paying larger entry fees with nice payouts to the winners. It's another form of gambling at pool plus an opportunity for top players to get together and match up on their own. These type of events are attractive to the players and the fans, whether in person or online. This is the future of our sport today, like it or not. I happen to be one of those who likes events like this. I only wish I could be there to see it in person.
For that reason I am planning (again) another interesting tournament that will be held in Los Angeles. I'm not giving up just because I got shot down one time.![]()

it would be more accurate to compare it to one of the tour events played at a shorter course like harbor town. but every pga tour event is contested on drastically different golf courses. it's the competition that makes them great, not the course. i'd say the same is true with pool. it doesn't matter whether it's a diamond 9', gold crown 9', or any type of barbox...the competition is what makes the tournament great.
Jay, why is 4 players earning some money, and 12 making nothing bettering the pool world?

I'm sorry Glen, I don't have the answer to your question. What I do know is that something is better than nothing. I'd rather be part of the solution than part of the problem. When we first put together the Bigfoot events with sixteen man fields there was a lot of resistance by players and fans. Now it is accepted as a key part of the Derby City Classic. In fact it is arguably the most exciting event held there every year.
Granted the Bigfoot is played on a 10' table (which I initially resisted) and is different than any other event in pool, but that's what makes it attractive imo. I find nothing wrong with bar table events, they've been around for years and can be quite challenging when played by top players. I happen to prefer Eight Ball on a bar table because of the complexities of dealing with so many balls in such a small space. Yes, it's true I prefer the Diamond bar box, but a well set up Valley Cougar will suffice. I grew up playing on Valleys and it's just a different kind of challenge as far as I'm concerned.
I would love to see tournaments like this, with top quality fields held on a regular basis. As for myself my plans are for a big table One Pocket event, just because I like the skills involved in playing this game. But that's just me, we're not all alike. I know some pool fans hate One Pocket and that's okay with me. I won't condemn them for that, just feel sorry for them.![]()
If this is your concern....tell me why it took so long for the table recover of the Elks lodge 309 here in the Colorado Springs. Your ''quite the talk'' when the recover matter was brought up amongst the members. Mind you, many of these older men/women are triple smart, non-poolplayers and business men, they felt the recover job taking MONTHs was weird.....tell us your side of the story for why it played out this way, especially with your position of ''bettering the pool world'' :boring2: I've only heard their side.

Diamond has done a lot to help this sport out, and play like a bar table should play. This event was held on Valley pool tables, which was part of my comment about mini golf!
