If you hang around long enough, you'll notice that "pool shoes" is an idea that comes up about once a year around here.

Most people think the idea is ridiculous, but....they don't wear the same shoes I wear. ;)
 
You need to have a adjustable weight in the shoe of the back leg to help give more power when you kick it up.

You should also have a whistle on it like those little deer warning horns that people put on their cars that will sound like a freight train when they kick up their leg.

And for those that are interested give the balance point.

Offer different tapers on the toe. Good for those that like the cockroach killers.

And purple yet, matches my cue. My opponents will be so busy looking at my feet and laughing, they won't notice all the ball in hands I give them.
 
Well, actually, I do have some favorite shoes for playing pool here if I want to be Mr Serious. the place I like to play has tile floors and most of the time is is somewhat slick, especially because it is very dusty and sandy where I live. On most of my shoes I can dig in my feet to break with all I have.
I have a few shies that will grip pretty good. I haven't used it in awhile, but when I feel like I must win at all costs, I'll take a tack cloth, used for prep before painting, and wipe the bottom of my shoes once in awhile.
I try to be discrete about it though, but it works.
 
You may have single-handedly solved the economic problem of being a professional pool player. Now that foot wear is such an important part of the game the top pros can get some serious endorsement money:

I have actually noticed my game slightly drops when I get new shoes or wear different shoes. Marketing shoes to pool players could actually work if they were shoes you can wear all over. Like skateboard shoes. But anything you would have to change into would be lame.
