If it were me, and I wanted another project, I'd cut it up and try to make it into a coffee table or some other kind of household furniture. That might sell quickly, or look nice in your own house.
For the sake of argument, do these tables in restored condition actually sell through? Or do they sit in someone's showroom for 10 years until a buyer comes along?
Jesus ChristWell, just so you have something to think about....replacing hardware if you have it in hand is one thing, but buying hardware from Ken Hash to replace MISSING hardware....leaves hin trying to guess what that hardware may be. If you think hardware for an 1880 Brunswick is just sitting on someones shelf somewhere, then i guess you should have no problem finding it right? I mean, just send Ken a picture of the hardware you're missing and he'll go in his back room and find it....LOL i know Ken, we've talked on my occasions. Restoring a muscle car is not the same thing as restoring a 1903 Buick you found in someones barn....in a dissasembled pile of parts....LOL
Well, chew on this thought for a minute, then ask yourself that same question again......its a billiards table, and 8ft at that.
To bad you fail to understand this table isn't to play on....its only to look at like a piece of furniture. The europeans amd asians don't have the americam table size hang ups, they haven't forgotten how to play the games like we have
8ft is a beginners table there where you must prove how good you are on it to be able to play on bigger tables in thier clubs and leagues
In europe
7 of the top 10 ranking 3 cushion players are european
Theres only 2 "americans" ranked 23 and 31
And they are not american born
South american where they also know how to play
Its a shame
Americans developed and perfected a scoring process , its such a effective method for scoring its still used today
The europeans even gave it a nick name in honor of us who came up with it
The serie americana they call it
Rail nurse to us
Of course this table can be played on and there no reason for you to continue to fabricate outright lies. Really in poor taste for you to even say this but absolutely expected of you.To bad you fail to understand this table isn't to play on....its only to look at like a piece of furniture.![]()
Bishop, I am sorry to have offered my opinion that this could be a restorable project if someone were to venture. I will also emphasize, INTERIOR DECORATOR SALES. It is the best choice for antiques many times.
I will also submit, this thread, though not intended, thurned into an example of why AZ has deteriorated into a negative site. Many have left or no lovger read close. This thread should have offered yo many options. It should have produced some interesting information.
Good luck in whatever you decide.
Phil you weren't wrong or out of line. Anything can be restored. I got a quote this afternoon for a full blown restoration from a close friend who retired from restorative woodworking some time back. My dad was possibly interested in bringing it back so I reached out. The intricacy of the inlay/veneer work is what drives the price up. It won't be easy matching veneers all this time later. I was quoted 10,800-11,800(depending on a few factors) with new slate and that's by someone who was only willing to take on the project because it would have been for my dad.Bishop, I am sorry to have offered my opinion that this could be a restorable project if someone were to venture. Well you and I don't have good history either. The problem is some people who don't know you or your history of tearing people down here can't differentiate between an honest opinion by a professional table mechanic and an infantile ego maniac who carries a grudge.Phil, Bishop and i have history, and not good history....he knows what he's done in the past and it has everything to do with having a big nose and sticking it where it didn't belong....over and over and over again!

To bad your posts don't come with a disclaimer.
I don't see how this table has anything to do with the NPR.You should have stayed in the NPR forums where you belong![]()

Thank you. Although we don't agree on everything or most things, I do appreciate your opinion. Particularly the slate thread, good info there.I'm going to let this thread go Bishop, say what ever you want:thumbup:
So I sat on this for awhile and ended up redoing my fireplace and turned it into a mantle.
