19 Cues just posted on ebay - high end stuff

Shawn,

Looks like some great cues and some very good deals. I am not a big collector of modern cues, but there are a couple that caught my eye here.

Do you ever cancel auctions if the bidding doesn't go high enough, or do you just start at a number you will accept?

Chris

i would like to bid on several of your cues, but last time i did you ended ALL the auctions early.i don't think i will bid on your cues again.i know it is your right to cancel all aucyions early if you think the price is low or whatever reason, but doing that also costs you bids later on.i can't allow myself to ever bid on any of your cues again.

Thats your choice. Anything will always be sold to the first reasonable offer

All auctions will be ended early if they are not performing

Why don't you just list the cues for YOUR bottom line? Seems like it would avoid wasting everyones' time, yours and prospective bidders. Additionally, ebay does not allow for ending an auction early just because you didn't get enough, (even with your disclaimer). Set a reserve price, pay the reserve fee, and be done with it...or else you're gonna get your account yanked. Fair is fair.

Auctions have been stopped early and the main reason has always been an error in the listing.
Safe catch all for the seller but as a buyer - I wish they were only allowed that option up to the first 12 hours only.
After that, they have to let it ride.

and ebay should block all sniping software and lowball bids like the famous $.01 bids which are designed to get rid of the buy it now prices....

I would have to agree.
Let the buyers show the interest early and for some often.

Then I would suggest just listing the cues with a reserve. The reserve should be your minimum acceptable price. It's no biggie, a small charge, and it will save the bad will to your reputation that comes up from habitually cancelling auctions. Or, start the auction at your minimum price.

If someone reports you for cancelling auctions because of low bid amounts, you would get a warning from E-Bay (this is not a valid reason), then have your account suspended if you continue the practice. I would like to say that since I am not affected, I would not report you, but one of the disgruntled bidders who is affected might.

Why don't you consider that for the next go around?

hmmm...bookmarked three to bid on...hmmm...

understand you can't give your cues away....maybe you could list what you want out of the cues?

ya know.. i hate that too.. i also start alot of auctions at .99 cents.. and also add a BUYITNOW... i feel anymore its really a waste to use the buynowfeature because you will always have somebody willing to bid 99cents...

i know.. if you put a reserve on it, the buy it now will stay till the reserve is met.. BUT what it should be.. the buyitnow should stay till atleast half the buyitnow price is met...
say you start an auction for 99 cents and make a 100 buy it now.. the buy it now price should stay there till bidding hits 50.00 and then it should go away..
its unfare that just because some jerk sees your auction first they can get rid of that feature...

i dunno.. it will probably never get better there.. its just easier to stop using buyitnows..

that's too bad, as i usually buy nothing on ebay that i don't snipe. that's why i'm known as fasterthanaspeedingticket on ebay, and no i do not use a sniping service....i have a T1 line direct in my home (a benefit of living real close to intel geek land in portland, oregon)

by the way, i would be comfortable with your representations of what you offer for sale, as i would titlestsucker, and bogey from what i've seen in both this and the ebay sites. There's also a stand up bidder on ebay known as Kornerpocket (Dave) from the carolinas, but i don't see him on this site.

Nice cues .. would you consider USPS Priority or other shipping method? I hate to see cues listed with UPS Ground since it takes forever to deliver :(

Very true.

It really pisses me off when people do this. If you don't like what the market will bring, why not just post it up with a BIN price or a reserve?

This just shows ignorance of the e-bay system, anyone who has ever spent any time there knows that some auctions don't move until the last 10 minutes. Some of those snipper programs don't bid till the last minute. But then again E-bay is chuck full of morons to start with.
