Barbells and Gunsights. Very early Ginacue. Original owner sent it back to Ernie a few years ago for refinsh, new wrap and new shafts. I love it. Especially at 19 25 oz!!! My pics suck. Sorry.

Very cool Jager.. I just picked this one up complete with a letter from Ernie stating it is one of his first 10 cues.. Almost has a Rambow look in spots.. Enjoy!

If I was going to buy a Ginacue, I would 100X prefer one of these older ones.

While I like the cues Ernie puts out now, I see a lot of the same cues over and over. I don't like the rounded points, and other issues.

These older cues scream custom.

One thing that a lot of folks don't understand, is while they can make something perfect (or pretty damn close) with CNC, it takes a lot of the custom portion out for me.

Thomas Wayne would scream at me, and has, but like art, the minor imperfections are part of the art. Without the imperfections, to me, it is less art and more an execution of CNC program. Not saying that, that isn't impressive, but I am not so sure it is art.

A friend of mine has a REALLY old Tim Scruggs cue. I mean old. Tim had to try to make a skull and crossbones only using a lathe and drill press (I assume). The skull was made by making 2 overlapping circles. I will try to find a picture of it. Is it perfect? Nope, but it was clever, and to me showed the difference between imperfect art and todays cuemakers PERFECT CNC INLAY cues.

So a little long winded, but IMO, this cue is art.

(Wouldn't it been better or easier to just say ...nice cue?)

Best of rolls,

Ken

Very nice early Ginacue.

I have the identical cue including veneer colors.
I sent mine back to Ernie for a re-finish in approx 2003, but mine has cortland wrap as the only difference.

Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed your pictures.

I just happen to know someone who has the matching case for the Gina Barbell cue.
It's a Fellini case (or look just like a Fellini) is has the Gina logo on the case and also the barbell design carved into the leather.

It's great to see cues like this.... These are pieces of history! I love the bar bells! Thanks for sharing!

It's almost as if you are inferring CNC and art are mutually exclusive.

Cue makers use hundreds of different machines to aid them in making cues. I don't understand why some people act as if CNC is so much different. Technology has improved over the years so why the heck wouldn't we take advantage of it? The use of CNC has done nothing but enable artistic expression in cues and helped further the evolution of cue design and performance.

To each his own...

Great looking Gina by the way. I'd love to have an old school player like that!
