2 Dozen of my favorite Szamboti's

Gus cues

Thanks for posting the pictures and sharing your cue collection with the forum. It would be hard for someone to top your cue collection!

To answer some of the questions and respond to some of the statements:

I have been collecting Szamboti's for over 15 years, but in the last three years added most of the cues to my collection.

I have played with virtually ever cue here, the ones I haven't hit balls with are just because I haven't had time yet. I love the way Szamboti's play and the cue on the right was my playing cue for quite a few years.

I am sure there are collections of Szamboti's out there that make mine look plain by comparison. I imagine that there are a lot of collectors that don't want to put their cues on display.

Most of my cues don't have a lot of inlay work but a lot of them have history especially to me. Barry has refinished at least five of the cues that I know about and probably more. When Gus made these cues he normally made them for players and these cues have 1000's of hours of play, I wish they could pass along all of that knowledge!

Thanks for all of the positive comments!

Wonderful

THAT put a in a really good mood .. thanks for sharing ...

I originally bought five 10x24 Whitten cases to store my collection but soon ran out of room, so I have three more on order. I am going to limit myself to 80 cues! I have some Action cases that are 12x36 to hold the extras right now. The cases go into a climate controlled safe standing up.

I have been meaning to take some pictures on my Szamboti's and today was the day. I am not the greatest photographer and this 100K limit is a little tough to deal with, but here is the best I could do.

The three on the bottom are Barry's and the rest are Gus's.

I hope you enjoy them, I know I do! :)

Yes, it's a wonderful collection, John. Hve you considered a display at Bill Stroud's show in Houston in October? Congratulations!

These are pretty special group.

I love the Barry hoppe on bottom, it would be my pic out of the group.

Just my style.

Very nice and thanks for showing them.

Beautiful collection. And I think it will prove to be a great investment over the next ten years.

While the propeller cue causes me to have heart palpitations, I am not greedy. Either of the "simple" maple window cues will do nicely. I saw one like the skinnier window cue just this week and lordy it is just the absolute nuts for a playing cue.
