2 Girls, a Mustang, and the Road

Sometimes, the best thing to do, is nothing

I'm not feeling myself today, never thought I'd say this but I think I need a break from playing, depression is kicking in hard and its effecting my game, lost twenty five to the first person I played today, bad way to start. I will tr and find a way to cheer up.

If you're not feeling it, by all means, give it a rest. No sense in trying to play through it. Do something different and get recharged. The game will still be there when you're ready.

I agree with many post, if you don't feel like playing then by all means take a break. Sometimes a break is your best lesson. You'll never play your best if you don't feel like it. I met one player that was a great short stop who quite playing simply because he became burned out on pool. Last I heard he nows drives a cab, he still gives pool lessons. Dave White in Norfolk Va. NOW there is a great spot. In the early 80's Dave was one hell of a one pocket player.

Too much of anything can wear you out. Try something different, not pool related. Go see a movie or go shopping. Like others have said, sometimes taking your mind completely away from pool can be a huge help.

I feel better today, hopefully my play will show for it, going to play in the Sunday 2:30pm tournament at Skinny Bob's.

Then tomorrow im going to try to drum up some action, then Tuesday I will play BCA League, and Wednesday I will try to sub for BCA.

Then Thursday its off toward Reno baby!

Stop in at Hard Times in Sacramento on the way if you can. Most of the same players from Hard Times, Bellflower, and the players going to Reno will be there for the Memorial Tournament that finishes the Sunday before Reno starts will be there and there will be action and you might be able to match up.

Paid our entries for Reno 8 ball 9 ball and ten ball, our rooms are taken care of, now we just split the gasoline, can't wait to see my buddies there!

Kim is playing great she will do well. I played pretty good today, finally got in a game with Jerry at Skinny Bobs, bet my own cash and won $800 today.

Tomorrow I'm getting staked to play him $1000 sets for seven hours, should be a tough game but a good score before Reno.

Been waiting here all day since the pool room opened, Kim and I ordered Dairy Queen to snack on. Jerry is a no show so far, played some even one hole while waiting around, got ahead by 4 games before Scott quit.

Trying to convince Kim to stop in at Hard Times in Sacremento since we are leaving for Reno Thursday, I told her I would free-roll her if she takes us rather than going straight to Reno.

Waited around for Jerry all day yesterday, he never showed up. I'm hoping he shows up today but im not holding my breath, I gave a few people my number to text me if he shows up and if he does we will be there within 30 mins. Otherwise not going until League, going to try to get in another match before leaving for Reno at 8am tomorrow.

Played BCA league last night, played 6 different people 2 racks each won 8 out of 12 racks. Had 1 Break and Run and one Run Out.

League is still odd for me, not used to the mentality.

I am so stoked about the road trip to Reno, can't wait. I doubt we will make it to Sacremento but if we can sneak over there we still might.

We will be in Reno until the 9th of March, leaving Reno on Monday March 10th in the morning and heading back to Austin.

Kim and I will then head to Katy TX Slick Willy's on the weekend of March 14-15, then back to Austin, then over to Spring TX for the 2nd Annual Big Time Classic March 21-22, then back to Austin again, then over to Lafayette LA to White Diamonds March 29-30, then directly to Temple TX for the State BCAPL April 1-4th, skipping Teams on the 5th-6th so we can get over to Jamaica Joes in Midwest OK, on April 5th-6th.

Sacramento is way out of the way. Not sure when you have to be in Reno

Phoenix and Vegas are on the way though.. Action in both I would think.

No matter what y'all keep your eyes open and stay safe while out there.. I traveled with 2-3 guys and we still had trouble a few times..

An example .. we won 3200 at a pool room. We went to leave and as I got to the door I noticed a car had pulled over near ours. It seemed odd because it was 2am and it had not been there.
I gave my buddy all the cash and cues and grabbed a guy from the hall. We start walking to the car and a couple guys get out and say they need a jump and ask where are all the cues. Said he saw us selling or showing some earlier and they might be interested. we tell them we left all money and cues inside. They seemed to get pissed and then got in car and left.
We had cars follow us a few times from bars or pool rooms. In San Antonio I was robbed at gunpoint in the bathroom by a guy I was playing.. Left me 200 to get home!

Never tell anyone local what hotel your staying at. At JOBs one year we watched a good set and then the next day found out someone went to the hotel and waited for them to show.
I think it was Tony Watson and staker that were held up getting in their car at a Waffle House.

Gotta be careful

FYI Jerry was at Skinny Bobs (and later, Fast Eddies) playing a dozen or so 1K sets. I looked around for you to let you know but couldn't find you at either pool hall.

I should amend that by saying I only saw the last four sets myself, but heard that he had been playing for a while.

I do know that if you still have a backer, you can play Ron again, with you getting the 8, for a hundos a set.

Let me know if you want me to help you set it up. Kim has my number.

We left Texas this morning at 8 AM, we wont be back in Texas until the 11th or 12th of March, when we return I will play Jerry for absolute sure, not quite sure about Ron.

That's one of the reasons I have credit cards, no PIN and no debit cards and carry very little cash. It's just not worth the potential problems. Most of the time I can borrow cash from the pool room owner wherever I am if I need additional money for a game.

At home we have a vigilant and well-trained dog named Zero, that protects our home in addition to a home security system backed up in the Cloud. Zero doesn't like it when the security system goes off by accident. I guess it hurts his ears but he gets agitated until we reset it.

Yea, it pays to be cautious.

How tough can a dog named Zero be?
