2 mystery cues

Take a look at these 2 cues. Any history, maker, comments, etc. will be appreciated. Don
The first one I'm sure is scrimshaw and very well done besides. Unusual joint should stand out to.
Second one is also unique with the horseshoe. The F doesn't ring a bell though.

I am going to guess Edwin Reyes and Bob Frye.
 
Like the engraved joint.
I also like the idea of having a horse shoe on my cue. Mainly because
I've been told to get the horse shoe outta my you know what.
At least that way, I'll know where it is.
 
curios isn't it? everyone goes to the joint to ID this cue and its got the most unique artwork on the butt. That scrimshaw was done by someone other than the cuemaker I would surmise. Can we find him/her maybe?
 
There was a company back in the 80's that advertised in the billiard magazines that etched the joints like this on the first cue. I have seen many Joss cues like this but others as well.
