I agree if it were possible to have match at DCC that would be awesome venue. Few months for everyone to get practiced up, get money straight or whatever. Would be tons of side action avail. And I could sweat & bet it☺

Here it is a year and a half later and I want to play him again. They tried to high roll me and raise the bet to $25,000 last time a few days before the match. So 20k is the right bet I think all things considered.

We didn't negotiate any sets beyond one so I have no issues there. I won't even say it's nitty if they don't play. As far as I am concerned that set and all the drama around it is a closed chapter in my life and the only connection for me is that I still think I can beat the guy. I know that my best game wasn't on display and that's the only real motivation here for me.

I don't want any drama, all that is out of my system. Just two guys on the table for 20k playing some one pocket. I learned the hard way that the theatrics mixed with adrenaline-fueled hatred don't mix with maintaining the focus I would need to play the best I can play.

My only thought is if Lou has people who think he is stealing then they should be doing everything possible to convince him to take the short drive to Oklahoma City and steal the money. I am not stealing. I think I will have to play good and even a little over my head but I have outrun the nuts before so it could happen.

We will see what happens by next Friday.

Anyway good luck John, we haven't seen each other in many moons but you were always nice to me so I'm pulling for you. If James is still out there and sober enough, pick his brain about strategy until neither of you can stand it any more. Hope it works out for you.

For people who don't understand why Lou, the clear favorite, wouldn't jump at the chance to take the money, think of it this way.

Here's the expectation, assuming Lou is the 3-2 favorite:

.60 (chance I win) x $20000 (amount I win)
+ .40 (chance I lose) x -$20000 (amount I lose)
= 12000 - 8000 = $4000 expectation

So let's say Lou has an expected value of $4000 for this match.

But here’s another way to see it:

.60 (chance I win) x $20000 (amount I win)
+ .40 (chance I lose) x -$20000 (amount I lose)
+ 1.0 x weeks of BS drama
+ 1.0 x JB in my life again
+ 1.0 x it won’t stop here even if I win

So the question might not be should I take an expected value of $4000, it might be this: is $4000 worth the weeks of BS drama with JB in my life again and no chance of it stopping even if I do win. I'm not at all sure that's a good bet.

But a lot of people are saying Lou was stealing. I wouldn't consider stealing to be a 3-2 favorite so it looks to me like people think Lou is favored much more than 3-2.

Obviously only $10,000. It could be $30,000, but I guess Lou is ok with a sure fire number of $10k.

It's not like JB is among for a spot and plus the location is a lot closer to Lou and he's upping the bet like Lou wanted last time. Someone has mastered the art of the backstroke.

And I'm sure Lou and his crew didn't clear a lot of money with the expenses they encountered when they traveled to the Accustats Arena either. This would be a much higher net for the crew.

No. It is a product of having the extra cheddar to throw at this match at this time. If the match doesn't happen then the money will be spent more productively.

I don't buy it. Lou posted his one year anniversary brag session a while back. Seems like having JB in his life is par for the course. Besides, Lou might be a favorite in this match (my money would be on JB this time though) but he's no world beater, nor does he seem to think he is. I watched the first match and I'd crawl over broken glass to play either of them and I'm damn near blind right now. So Lou, assuming he even wants a big action game, knows this is his ONLY opportunity for such with an opponent he can handle. I doubt he will take it. But I sure hope he does.

Did you watch the match? I think JB's high run for the match was 3 balls. Lou posted a video where he ran 100 in 14.1

I'd put those odds a lot higher than 3-2 but Lou has been around pool long enough to know what he is doing.

Of course. But 20K is a big number for anyone. Including the very, very wealthy. That Lou has an opportunity for a score like this, this late in life, won't come around often. So, regardless of the "drama", if Lou feels he's the better player, there's no reason not to accept this match. Excuses, for sure. But no reasons.
