Maybe the gaol-line is the kick in the pants that Corey need to show the World 'WHO'S THE BOSS?"!

He has had a great event, for sure.

C'MON, DUDE!

Games Currently In Play:
Table
1 Kuo P C 8 C Deuel 5
2 D Peach 8 H Stolka 4

As i feared :(

Corey lost to Kuo 11-7. That the last american waving the flag in the tournament is out.

Don't get me wrong i like the asians dominating but i feel the americans had a lot to offer in terms of competition. If the likes of Strickland, Archer, JJ, Morris etc, really got their form in the right time the field could have been a lot different. I do understand the difficulties of adjusting to travel, environment, time difference, food , water etc etc. So Definitely home advantage to the home nation.

Just in as well the next WPC is going to be in the same place next year. So home advantages to the Asians again.

Hmmm And what about the Europeans that are still in? Don't they have the same problems?
They're doing ok.... ;)

That's a good point. Maybe they like the food better, although I really doubt I would!;)

if everyone played like they were supposed to then everything would be different wouldnt it. if wimpy grew up in this era.... if i played perfect pool... if!

Nice, hmm, also consider why Asians fair well when they go overseas. It think they probably do suffer the same predicament. :D

That actually a good Point :D - I think your right but i was kinda looking from Earl's angle of perspective. I still can't believe how well the lads Daryl and Karl are doing. Flying the Union Jack or more specifically saint George's flag high :D

There is absolutely no need to be up on your high horse. This is a discussion board so i don't know what got up your nose? and frankly i don't care. We are here to discuss and express our opinion. Have i somehow offended you by talking hypothetically? if this is beneath you then kindly stfu and be hostile somewhere else

I don't even get what has caused this. If you think i am somehow discrediting asians by talking about americans then you got it wrong too. Look at where i am from and i asian too btw

Okay, we got the perfect final, Gomez vs. Peach. Both underdogs at the start of this event. And both playing good right now. If Boyes had made the final no one would be there to watch. Two Brits in Manila just wouldn't do it I'm afraid.

Very good observation! :o

I'm looking forward to the finals. I am glad the Gomez got in there! :)

I am EXTREMELY disappointed that Francisco Bustamante didn't make it.

Sorry, I lost a long post about the big controversy with Django and Peach. Short story, it was a bad hit!

Shane played Luat last night at One Side. Race To 15 for 2K. He won 15-14. Then he played Gallego a Race To 11 for 2K. He won 11-10. Easy money right! Two strait hill-hill! $4,000 winners though! Lee Van challenged him to play for $20,000. I suggested he wait on this match. Maybe the best money player right now, and if Shane wins his action is dead. He will play Kiamco tonite for 2K. I'm on my way shortly.

How long was the line to get to play Shane Jay? That just proves that
Shane can hang with the big dawgs and the big dawgs are a dime a dozen
there! I can't believe the current US champion is booked for the rest of the
year, so to speak. :p Lots of action waiting for him, and we're not even
hearing Django and Efren's name on the list there.

One question Jay, how many pros will play Shane even here in the US?
I'm sure he will also finds lots of money action in Taiwan or in Europe too...

Can you arrange a match between SVB and Roberto Gomez? I want to see if superman is the real deal or just a one hit wonder.

I'd say he's already a five hit wonder.

10 - 1 over Lely, 10-2 over Chao, 11-0 over Feijen, 11-4 over Kuo, 11-4 over Boyes.

Demolishing these great players would sure seem to suggest Gomez is the real deal. This is surely among the most dominant runs in the history of our sport.

dude calm down. i'm not offended did i offend you by what i wrote? my point is anything is possible when you say if. the american contingent played bad and the europeans had to deal with just as much jetlag or whatnot. i have nothing against the americans in fact i like them too.

Yep, that's consistency and a level that no one has paralleled in this tournament.

Gomez an underdog? Jay, cant you remember when we met in Manila in January this year, I pointed at Gomez and said: There is the next world champion.

I should have put my money where my mouth is and made a bet..
