Our Tuesday Intermediate-level League Division (BCAPL) started last night with 26 teams.

I'm wondering what are the largest in-house league divisions in the US?
Where else are there large numbers of teams playing at the same time in the same place?

Our players pay $12/night

They get
--free drink
--free pool time all day and night on league day
--diamond tables w/simonis separated by 6.5 feet
--two-tables per match
--free hour of pool during the next week for each table run
--$300 toward their trip for ANY player who goes to BCAPL/Vegas
--Payouts to all teams--from $140 to $1000 or more.
 
That has got to be one of the best treatments of league players anywhere. I am definitely jealous of you. Make sure to frequent this location as they are truly taking care of the pool players!!!

Cool Players is correct , I spent a week in Fargo , getting certified to Build Cobra Kit Cars , and it never got above ZERO , very cool .
 
Yes sir that is how you treat customers, promote pool, and run a successful business. I used to play in a place for over two years and the owners never knew my name. They could have cared less who any of the players were. They did nothing for them and on non league nights the place was a ghost town. I just went back to Raleigh NC to The Brass Tap one of may favorite places when I lived there. I had not been there in over two years and was welcomed back by the owner Tony Coates with a beer and a warm handshake and he remembered my name. Tony and Mike get it and the other owners ought to be paying attention.. Makes me want to move to Fargo, well almost anyway!!! Great Job Mike, I may just have to go visit sometime!
 
Amsterdam Billiards in NYC has a pretty big league system.

Mon nights: Straight pool singles. Approx. 70 players.

Tues & Wed nights: Team 8 ball. Approx. 30 teams

Thur nights: Team 9 ball. Approx 30 teams

Saturday afternoons: Straight pool singles. Approx. 25 players

Sunday evenings: 9 ball singles. Approx. 34 players.

All of the above leagues are on 9 foot Brunswick Gold Crowns.

There are also two 8 foot Gold Crowns for APA and NAPL league play.
 
Sounds like a great place to play. I use to play in a league in Roanoke VA back in the late 90's. They had around 20 teams and it is still going on to this day. Two team finished 1st & 2nd in the VNEA in Vegas in 1996. Charbells was the name of the teams. They really treat the players good there as well. I wish you the best of luck on your league with a long future.

You go Quesports !! You are spot on with Tony Coates ! Many a pool room owner could take a few lessons from him . Always makes everyone feel they are appreciated . Johnny Archer and Michael Coltrain were there in their early years. One of the good ole pool rooms. Everybody gets a teddy bear at the Brass Tap
 
Mike, you are going it right! For any player going to Vegas I'm sure $300 helps a lot. Also, the free hour of table time for every table run is a creative incentive. Great idea!
 
Strokers in Palm Harbor has APA, BCA and an in-house straight pool league on multiple nights...

If you're in one of their leagues, you get free table time on practice tables on league night, free table time M-F from noon-5pm (I think).

Access to the free table time alone makes my annual APA fee worthwhile.

Oh, and the owner of the place plays on multiple league teams as well. He knows pretty much everyone who frequents the place.

They're not hurting for business any night of the week, even though there are over a dozen excellent pool halls in the area...

Charlie's in house league is by far the best league in this town. He had to split it up between two nights, and there is still a waiting list for teams. I'm on that list

Your right Wayne, I believe he gave some sound advice to his niece's husband before he opened up that nice place in Marietta. Tony's experience and years of knowledge are priceless. Hope to see you on one of my trips back to the tarheel state and the capital of Southern Heaven!
 
Pretty sure Amsterdam Billiards in NYC have the largest team league & largest league pay out around the country. At one point they have about 42 team 9 balls. With $16 green fee & $10K pay out with 1st place pay around $4-5K prize. Couple years ago the 1st place pay out was $10K & prize pay up to the 8th place.
 
The New Green Room in Baltimore has 24 bar boxes, roughly 120 in house teams playing apa, and Charlies Pro Shop. Charlies is arguably the best Pro Shop in the country.
 
One of my team mates runs a truck up through Fargo and he stays somewhere close to that Fargo Billiards and practices, he said it's one of the best houses around, he's been very impressed with everyone up there.

Wow, you treat league players right. We can't even get shirts for our traveling league from our bar. I'm from South Dakota but run through Fargo a fair bit. Can't wait to check your place out.
