36.12 mph

Don't feel bad. I struggle to break twenty, only done it a handful of times in my life. I dunno what the secret is. Tried a variety of stances, bridge lengths, and cues. Maybe I need to start working out.

I got the phone app and found out that the best I could get was 17 MPH with my favorite 21 oz. one-piece playing cue. Haven't used it again in months.:o

I've never, ever worked on my hard break because I'm mostly interested in straight pool, but I thought 20 MPH would be a walk in the park for me.

Just curious... Would a good break cue automatically add a few MPH to my break using the same technique I am currently using?

I am not sure what is going to look like. But I am sure it will be nice. I know that I can hit hard with a lot of break cue, but I hit the hardest with this one. There was a lot of work that went into in and it payed off. You guys will just have to wait and see.

Thanks guys

Mike is it true you are going to compete in the trick shot championship?

If yes, me and Ray Linares were talking the other day and we think when it comes to your turn to do a shot, you pull out your break cue and announce:

"And now for my next shot I will shoot this cueball a minimum of 35 mph into the one ball ball, and not scratch or go off the table!"

Id like to see Semi or Andy Segal do that!

I will be playing in the Trick Shot. Unfortunately I won't be able to break the balls in competition because they say its not a trick shot.

energy tranfer is the name of the game. i still don't like any predetor i've hit with that uses that uni-lock joint. they could do alot more by just getting rid of that junk uni-lock joint.

I'll stick with my keith for now, but i am excited to try this thing out. Always looking forward to trying new cues, regardless of make model, or anything else. Just love cues i guesse.

best,

Justin

No worries Mike anything requiring skill and not a bouncing ball into a cup seems to be out of their accepted shots... Ask Florian what they did to his shots or ask Mike Massey about what he thinks about the current state of affairs when you cross paths with him......

It's their court to hold and they will make sure who wears the crown.....

Tonight I got the privilege to hit with the prototype BK-3. All I have to say is, WOW. On my second break, I hit the rack at 36.12 MPH. The work that has gone into this cue is like no other and I can't wait until I get one.

I have one question that lends to "credibility"? Are you sponsored by Predator?

If you are not "sponsored" by Predator...it mean's "something". If you are sponsored by Predator...then it's the same old "commercial schtick ".

Fair enough question?

Mike,
that's a fast break for sure, and I'll be first in line to try one.
I am curious to know have you ever tried an X-Breaker?
And if so what kind of results did you have?
How would you compare the two?

I feel like my break is pretty hard and I usually make a ball or two, but when I use my app the fastest I break is 18.5! All my friends can't believe it because it looks like I'm pounding the ball.
How do I increase my speed???

Yeah, me too. I mostly practice 14.1 at home, but when I go to the pool hall for a little 9-ball I see heads turn all the time when they hear my break. Good spread of the balls as well. Then I get the phone app and find out I'm way down there in speed. Must be because I'm not using a break cue? I dunno, I was hoping MD might advise me there. Wadda ya think, Mike? Will a good break cue (like the one you are so excited about) automatically add significantly to my break speed all by itself, without making other major changes to my technique?

BTW Monte, real nice drumming on that link! My son's a first rate drummer like yourself, and lays down a nice, hot funk beat like that when it's called for, so I can really appreciate your abilities at the kit. Hand speed like that lets me know that you probably have the natural ability to generate high cue speed, just have to work on the timing is all, methinks.

Work on your timing... funny thing to say to a drummer, eh?

Thanks for the compliment on the drumming. That is second nature to me, but pool I have to work on.
I have a BREAK cue and still can't get past 18.5. Come on Mike, give us so tips and maybe we'll buy that break cue! LOL.

Mike, how are you clocking the speed of your break? phone app or radar gun?

Errm, so you are going to sit here and tell us how awesome the cue is and how it hits the break so much better but you are going to tell us NOTHING about the actual cue?

What was the weight of the cue? You can guesstimate it, was it a 19-20 ouce cue or more like a 17-18? Any pro is going to notice a lighter then normal cue the instant they pick it up.

What was the balance like? Was it forward balanced, back end heavy, or was it fairly neutral? Again, this is something a pro is going to know.

Was it a very stiff cue or did it have some whippiness?

What tip size did it have? Regular 13mm? Larger? Smaller?

What type of tip did it have? Can you tell us at least if it was leather?

Not saying anything about the cue after your initial post might actually lead to some people being annoyed with those types of antics "I got to hit with the BK3 and it was awesome but everything about the cue is a secret so I am not telling you guys anything!!!" and they will choose to "not" buy a new BK3 on principle. This is most definately not the way to sell a new cue to some people, this is the way to make sure they won't buy one. You are trying to help Predator here are you not?

My only Sponsor is Snookers RI.

Mike: I occasionally post video analysis of powerful breakers. I've done several pro's like Nevel, Archer, Morra, Buste, & Hillbilly. Would you mind if I did one of you? Do you have a good video for that purpose?

Another $400+ break cue that 90% of the real world will never be able to utilize. I've tried the BKs and they just don't work for me.
