3rd annual Meet and greet / cue show / tourney

OK.. So here is a great news item..

Paul Rubino will be there... he will have a display of some very nice stuff. Rambow's tools, Palmers materials, some other very unique never before seen stuff...

We will be holding a seminar on Saturday.. on ID'ing Balabushka's and Botis. Obviously if you have been there you know the quality of the items we will be discussing... If not, make it, it will be worth it.

Hopefully some of Robert Weirs' stuff too :D
just kidding,
The event sounds great,
I'm sure those who get to attend will really enjoy it

Any chance Barry will be there? He used to visit Marks room a lot back in the day. That's how I met him in fact...

I am doing final prep for an expedition through Labrador and Newfound departing the following Thursday, so time will be tight. (www.drivetheglobe.com)

BUT, if Barry will be there, I will make a point to at least stop in and say hello. It will be good to catch up- we have been out of touch for a while now...

Not that I am not mad I cannot spend the day! I am eager to meet-n-greet everyone there. I just think I will be too pressed for time to spend several hours over there.

I'm going to have to stop over I think. Also very interested in Herman Rambow's tools. It is amazing what was done back in the day with so little- just desire and creativity to get the job done. That's why I love old-school cues in general- I think a lot of the 'perfect' cues made today lack a certain something because of it.

OK, OK, I apologize for tempting fate..... I just happened to be watching that old Honeymooner's episode where Ralph and Ed are forced to bring the wives on their fishing trip and the question came to mind, concidering my own significant other's opinion on my being a cue enthusiast. Sounds like it would be fun, but alas........

He has been invited, we are very open about ANYONE can attend. There are only two exceptions. Barry is invited, all the cue dealers are invited, cuemakers, etc..

Does everything start at 10 or just the 10ball turny? I'm going to try my hardest to get up there only about an hour away so I should make it.

We'll open at 10, the tourney was moved to 1pm. We expect a good turnout. Lot of cues, Tikkler, John Vero.. two noted collectors that are always buying/trading, I am inviting a few more, and we'll see. I look forward to the displays.

Tom M. will have a book signing, he is in charge of the NE Hall of Fame and has a thread posted in the main section.

Pool Table Magic Get Together

Can't wait for tomorrow. The cues i have seen there at other get togethers were unbeleivable. Joe and Mark always a joy to talk with and a wealth of knowledge. The room is also beautiful.
I will bring my 1966/67 Balabushka. Spain forearm, plexy window with my name handwritten between silver colored rings by the master, all original with one shaft (not straight). As always it is for sale from original owner.
See everyone on Saturday.

OK, here is one of those stupid questions, and I may get banned for asking but, does anyone bring their wife to this event?

IF YOU CAN'T BRING HER ALONG, YOU NEED A NEW WIFE.

thanx joe, you are just a wealth of knowledge!!

guy

WHY DO YOU GOTTA FIB TO JOE LIKE THAT? NOW HE'S GONNA THINK HE'S IMPORTANT.

HOPE ALL YOU GUYS HAVE A BLAST, I JUST CAN'T SEE IT WORKING OUT FOR ME TO BE THERE.

Marcus

Nice job, 3rd place. I think you may have been one of the people I was watching and picked to do well. So that brings me two questions... First off who took 1st and 2nd????? And to see if you were who I think you were... Did you miscue in one of your early matches, make a good hit and luck in the ten ball. "Use up all the luck from your cue in that match"
