Its always nice when someone is talking to you as you are approaching 50 and totally breaking focus... I should of regrouped and reset myself

things got a little dicey at times in this run, but i somehow kept composure and kept it going !!

Thumbs Up

Steve, that was your best video to date. Very good shooting. You looked good threw out the run. A couple of close calls but we all have them during runs. That 8 ball in the side pocket shot was Great. Only real players can see & make shots like that. You are a "player". It is something how it works out to make a great break shot, balls flying every where and theres no shot......
I am glad to see that it happens to other players b/c for a long time I thought it only happened to me....LOL
Thanks for posting.

Steve:

Nicely done! I really like that longish-distance carom shot on the 8-ball in the side pocket.

It's too bad about the distractions, though. Looks like you have the same problem in your room as I do mine -- too many "chatty Cathies" (or "chatty Tonies" as the case may be ;) ). Methinks there were, like, three times where that Tony guy was distracting you to ask questions? (I recall the "manufacturing break shot" question, and then a question about your case for sure. The fact he was talking non-stop right next to your table is a distraction all by itself.)

Great run, even in the face of these distractions.

Thanks alot guys !!!

The shot on the 8 was all i had....I guess all the years of playing the game "Banks, Caroms, and Combos" paid off. i did have the shot going up the rail on the left, but it was like a half inch off the rail and shooting that from on the back rail isnt such an easy shot.

Sean: the guy that was talking to me should know better, of all people especially since he is a USBA referee (damn 3 Cushion players, they are so rowdy....LOL)

Nice job, your next threshold should be an 80 ball run, and once you can comfortably get to that number OFTEN and combine it with good board play your ready for Anyone in match play. Gettin' over 40 was always difficult back in the day, and earlier getting my first 20 was what hooked me.

My goal is alot higher. it would be great if i can topple my high run on video, now that would kill 2 birds with one stone !!!

Super run, Steve! My highest on video was 49 and I missed a straight-in 50 that was 3' away. Funny, I made like 2 trick-shots in that run to keep it going and then I can't make a straight-in. I love this game. I love this game.... (I keep tellin' myself that).

Nice run! You really lay into your break shots. Longer runs on video are just around the corner. Keep on filming! By the way, just curious but what kind of cue are you using?

I shoot with a custom Bill McDaniel cue. probably one of the best cues i have ever owned, and i will never part with it !

thanks guys

What you'll find out, most often when you put together an 80 in match play games over. Me, I never much felt like continuing my run once the match was over. If you can put together an 80 once, in every match, your good to go.

Nice run, Steve. I thought for sure you got on the ball on the top rail well enough and that you would make it and come back and get on another break shot.

Nice soft shooting.

beautiful, Steve!

many things i don't understand, will rewatch it several times to figure out why. have already learned much from what i do comprehend!

one suggestion: your camera seems to be focused nearer than the table, likely because of triggering it with part of your body in the field; at least, that's what happens to me sometimes.

Nice run Steve! I have no critique, just a question. At 1:58 you had the 13 and 14 tied up on the rail and a chance to run into them with the 8 but you waited until you got on the 9 to break them out. Did you plan it that way or is that just how it worked out?

Good job.

Hey Al

yes i planned it that way, if figured that was a safer bet. more controlled in my eyes. i wanted and did just run into the top ball so i had definite shape. and would be able to maintain the final triangle end patterns.

with running into them with the 8 if things went horribly wrong i may have not had a shot or even worse disturbed my break ball.

thanks

I'll admit I didn't see that until you shot it, I probably would have used the 8. In one of the later racks you had an beneath the rack break shot. Did you use any English on the ball on that shot?

Hey al,

Yea on that shot I used high right English... And like I muttered on the video... I really got away with that one, I damn near scratched... At that point I paused myself and regrouped !!!

I thought you might have.

I'm guessing you were trying to come three rails under the rack back to the middle of the table. In the accustats video of Cohen winning the world championship that shot came three or four times. One of the prettiest shots in 14.1 if you can pull it off.
