:o:D Just curious if any of you think this is possible . The real deal is the last girl I dated was "bi polar" and I watched her go from VERY HIGH to really low many many times .In fact it's probably why we are not together today. Over the past 3-5 yrs I have seen alot of improvements in my game BUT I go from playing really strong to playing like an old poot butt over and over.....sometimes from day to day and in bad cases in the middle or a match or single game. So my new term for where I am in my pool players journey is "Bi Poolar"

I think if the meds are balanced, you can function just like anyone else.

Mental illness is a serious matter. When life would become too unbearable for my first wife, she would oftimes recite a little poem to help her get through a bad day. "Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm a schizophrenic and so am I."
My advice to you is practice, practice, practice. Oh yeah. Learn to play One Pocket. You'll thank me later. :D

Bi-Polar -Fuggetaboutit

Strange you should mention it.

I was in a pool hall recently where a couple of guys playing cheap sets were having words. One guy is a regular, the other guy not so much. The words got louder. It got tense.

The guy who thot he was wronged(the regular)-ran down his side of the deal to a guy with immpecable been around-the block poolhall/matchmaking/action playing experience.

This well respected guy resolved the issue to everyone's satisfaction.

He said to the 'wronged' guy-'yeah, he does that sh#t sometimes-it's Ok-he can't help it-there's something wrong with him-he's crazy-some kind of bi-polar something-he's crazy-that's all. Sometimes he just goes apesh#t. Pay him. Then don't play him anymore.'

Situation handled. Inexpensive lesson learned?

Is this a standard hustle?

Ironic that Bi-polar came up again-so soon.

Take care

other forms of mental illness and it's no cake walk.My main problem is I get to a certian level and get lax but I am taking steps to errode that from my life...

I don't think that being Bi polar would completely prevent you from playing at Pro-Level. I think it would more difficult, and at times out bursts would be unaviodable but there are some Pro's out there on the tour who at times certainly appear to have this problem!!:)

Wow, I totally missed the intentional typo. I thought you had mis-spelled "bi-polar" until JB pointed out the "pool". I'm an idiot. :)

That is fantastic. Nuff said.

I envy you. Really... I live the alternative. i am NEVER good, NEVER bad, and my official rating is 'Meh.' Enjoy the highs, survive the lows (or 'Poot Butt' sessions as you stated), and let us know how they feel.

matt90...just fyi...people who are bipolar are easily diagnosed. a blood test will do it. there are two kinds of bipolar...some bipolar patients need only take a small daily dose of lithium to maintain a 'balanced' life...others need several meds, and if they don't take them, they go 'off their rocker'. not all bipolar people are nutcases.
