Sleepers

Dennis, you got some great "sleepers" there.
I know they are all Collectables.
Richard Black's Black Baron is the most obvious.
You know, I've never seen a Black Baron with a stich ring like yours.
The others have N/S Rings.. Keep that in mind..
My guess?..
Pre Date South West,
Kersenbrock, Kersenbrock
Petersen,

My favourite is that 6 point Petersen but I really like some of those cues built on Davis' blanks.

Very nice and elegant collection - thank you for showing it.

predate sw, Kers rolling k, Kersenbrock, Peterson, My old ey, my other old ey, davis corsair?, Davis brick, davis brick, davis brick , davis brick, Gracio davis , gracio davis, Black Baron. How did I do??

Very close. One of the Bricks is not a Davis it is a Duc full splice blank.

That was a fantastic pick Deacon. Only a good old Illinois boy could have done it. Born in Chicago, raised in Monmouth and Gailsburg as a kid, live in Maryland, heart still in Illinois. Merry Christmas, Bob C.

It kind of helped that Deacon has seen all of these cues in person and we have discussed them, too.

Petersen,

Alton Thanks for pointing out the Stitch ring thing. I hadn't realized that.
The butt cap is all ivory, too. It was made in 1986

Nice collection there sir. Your wife likes them as much as you???

I think you know the anwer to that one Scott.

What she doesn't know......

When I went to Chicago I had the pleasure of meeting Dennis and he allowed me to play with 3 or 4 of his cues. Kind of scary, better the equipment than the player but at least I got to experiment with great players.
You're the best Dennis :)

Thanks for the heads up on Dennis. I had a feeling he was a good guy.

After talking to Dennis I couldn't help but feel the need to shoot some racks with the guy. Good shooter, great to do business with, and nothing negative to say about anybody. I mentioned good shooter and should of said great (He has a high ball run that I can't equal). I'd post the number but don't want to mess up his action. LOL

I ask a lot of people what their high run is and you should be proud.

I travel a lot and can't wait to be in your area.

super nice collection, but i have to know which one plays the best?

Real tough question, because I don't spend the time with some of them that I should, when my shooter is shooting ok.

I had been using the Ed Young Purpleheart for about a year then I switched to the Predate Southwest and that has been my shooting cue for close to a year now.

That Brick Davis that you used to own still shoots very good. As does that Duc Davis. I sometimes leave my shooting cue in the case and when I am practicing in the basement just use one of those and the Brick Davis is probably the best.

I've used the Kersenbrock's several times but they are a bit stiff and I don't want to mess with my 14.1 game while I learn. I played with the Black for a while before I got the EY and that had a nice stiff hit. Just got the Petersen and hit about a rack with it.

I also hit a few racks with that Mason I got but Pig borrowed it. Pat Diviney with Lakewood Shafts hit a few racks with that and seems pretty good. I've got a bludworth Sneaky Pete and a Frey Sneaky Pete that hit pretty good. A deano and a Starkey and a Schuler round out my collection.

Nice collection Dennis. I'm curious about your comment that the Brick Davis "still shoots very good", are you implying that a cue's hit can change over time? (I mean without environmental influence, i.e. warping)

No, I guess I mean I still like the hit. Mason and I discussed that particular cue when I bought it.

Let me know when you will be in the area and we will shoot some.

If you are going to Derby City, I'll see you there.
