To answer your question, no, Alex Pagulayan would not be eligible to compete in the hypothetical American nationality-restricted TOURNAMENT. Please notice the word "tournament" in my post is in the singular and not in the plural as in your post, Yobagua.
Jose, Mika, Allison, Karen Corr would also not be eligible to compete in the hypothetical American nationality-restricted TOURNAMENT.
Tony Robles and Rodney Morris, I had thought, are Americans. Though they may be Hispanic or have a Guam background, they are Americans, and as such, they would be eligible to compete in the hypothetical American nationality-restricted TOURNAMENT -- in the singular -- that I hypothetically suggested.
MANY countries around the world have NATIONALITY-restricted TOURNAMENTS -- in the plural.
I see nothing wrong with the United States having an AMERICAN nationality-restricted TOURNAMENT -- in the singular.
Hope this clarifies the HYPOTHETICAL tournament -- in the singular -- that I was mentioning when it comes to American nationality-restricted.
Oh, and, yes, Yogabua, if you are an American, born here in the U.S. of A., and do not have a citizenship in another country, then, yes, you, too, would be eligible to compete in the HYPOTHETICAL American nationality-restricted TOURNAMENT -- in the singular.
As much rage as you may feel as my suggestion of having a NATIONALITY-restricted tournament, it is the same rage I feel when I see other countries having NATIONALITY-restricted tournament(s), with the United States not having any.

Gee JAM I dont have any RAGE. I was just asking for clarification. You dont have to be so paranoid. I remember a time when there was a "No Irish Need Apply". When Italians and Irish people were considered foreigners even if they were born here. I happen to be Asian and even though I am American my question of Nationality always comes into question. As in where are you from? Or where were you born? I am an American as you and dont feel the same rage when other countries have a Nationality restricted policy just as I dont have a rage when some tournaments restrict by gender. I know that everyone in Europe and Asia still want to see Earl or an Archer or Cory. And we, IMHO, is the greatest country on earth. Well Ive not been to the planet that Efren is from. But excluding that we have great tournaments and I really dont see the need for an exclusionary tournament unless they are going to represent theUSA as in the Mosconi cup. Or the Olympics. Hey maybe we could have a Mosconi Cup qualifyer and keep it to only American players.
Why is it though that people who dont agree with you are accused with having mental abberations like "rage". Or you get pissed off at and start to pull credentials like people who are not old time AZers. I for one have been watching this site since their inception. And I have been watching and playing pool as long as some pros were in their bare youth and called nicknames like "hippie" and such and now cant compete on the present international tour. I dont have rage or any disorder like that and people who do should consider help or medication.
