I also wonder about why people are afraid to leave negative feedback against him. So far one other person and myself have been the only ones to leave negative feedback, yet there have been handfuls of unsatisfied customers of his every year.

Would you not agree that by this time, those in charge should see how this is a problem and do something about it. Or at least publicly state the reason he is allowed to continue doing what he does.
Someone needs to take some responsibility and/or action.
I certainly would not want to argue with your point of view, because I have been down this road with same questions concerning the same people in the past. Since 2005 I have seen problems like this happen many times, and in all cases the offenders were banded from the forum or people would no longer do business with those people so they just went away.
However, I suppose some people may have been born under a lucky Star, and no matter what they do people do not loose faith in them. The last time this occured I was very involved and I can tell you for a fact that the reason so many threads were locked or deleted was because of Trolls. Certain people would jump into the threads time after time with the intent of causing people to make comments that would get the thread deleted or locked.
There have been Trolls in this thread also, who have attacked the gentleman who started it, telling him to go away and that he was Nuts, and so on and so on. Go back and read this thread, the main person who was attacking the threads OP, has also trolled other threads like this one.

I don't believe its my place to leave negative feedback. Im not saying he doesnt deserve it, but as a newer member here, Im gonna stay on the fence, because there are far too many details that I do not know. Im not sticking up for anyone, just stating what I think.

I believe the guy you are talking about was initially pissed, cuz the OP would not name the suspected scammer. If I get screwed on here, I will do my best to resolve it privately, but if I think Ive hit a dead end, Im gonna let EVERYONE know who got me. Im not saying anyone is guilty or not, but if the OP really felt he got screwed, he owed it to the community to tell us. You and I had a colorful disagreement on your last poll Craig, but even though we disagreed, I still saw where you were coming from. With that said, this is sort of the same point you were trying to get across in your last poll. Again, Im not picking a side in this one due to a serious lack of intel, so Ill eat some cheetos and enjoy the banter.

Which is as it should be. Feedback is only used by those who have had direct transactions with a seller and want to relay how that transaction took place. As far as I know, you've never had a transaction with Varney, so you're not really entitled to leave feedback. What I was saying is that there are more than a few buyers who have been unsatisfied with their transactions with Varney, yet they won't leave him any negative feedback because of it.
I think part of the reason may be because they do not want to receive negative feed back after issuing negative feedback to the cuemaker ruining their "perfect or close to perfect" iTrader score as dumb as it sounds. I agree, unless you are doing some sort of trade or buying a cue from someone you should not be issuing feedback through the iTrader. I also think people look into that too much. Not to stray away from the thread, but Marcus does the Escrow service and I would highly recommend it when buying on here if you are not at all confident with pictures you see here. There is also a thread in the for sale/wanted section to post one comment about a transaction but I doubt people flip through pages and pages of it to try to find out about a cuemaker.

i'm pretty sure i left a negative feed back. that was like a year ago so i can't remember if i did or not. i'm 80% sure i did
I read your post about KV, and I would say the negative feedback was spot on. You were not happy with him, and felt scammed, so I believe if you left negative feedback, you were 100% right. thats the way its supposed to work right? I personally have had no dealings with KV, so I cannot comment or leave negative feedback on him. I wasn't saying nobody should, just not me.

I did read some of those old threads, and I still cant say one way or the other. There are too many details left out. I really appreciate and respect the opinions and views of many people on here, including you Craig, but I cannot criticize someone that I have never met or dealt with. In the other thread I could speak up because I know the guy, on this one, its a different animal. I agree with you 100% that name calling and acting childish is uncalled for and should be dealt with, but unfortunatly thats the world in which we live. Also, Im still waiting on that beer

Joe the real problem with the old threads about this individual are that 90% were locked or deleted by the moderators, because of the involvement of people who would intentionally stir the pot to get them closed. Trolls are the biggest problem that exists on INTERNET forums, these people in most cases receive payment through free repair work or other means, and some are just psychotic Loony Tunes who have nothing better to do.
I truly thought / hoped that his communication skills would have improved but apparently that has not been the case.

But, if you have bought enough cues from custom cue makers, you know as well as I do that sometimes things happen and cues take longer than expected.
All I'm saying is that you should expect and anticipate a longer lead time than quoted.
I would love to see some statistics showing "Promised Date" versus "Actual Delivery Date". I think that many would be surprissed.
Regarding the KV issue. I think that he has made great strides to do the right thing for his customers. Will he ever be as communicative as his customers would like?? Probably not!! Will he ever turn cues around as quickly as he and his customers would like?? Probably not!!
I really don't care if I order a cue from him or another custom cue maker and It takes a year or more instead of 8 or 10 months.
I know that I will be getting a fantastic product for my money.
Again, I know that this will fall on deaf ears with many AZ'ers and that is fine. To each their own!!!
