The name is a bit over the top ... but it has helped me so far.

Don't pay attention to the negativity, it's nice to see you here in the main forum.

Agreed.

Larry what did you like about this book ? Any comments as to how it compares with other books like Byrnes instructional works ?

Dave

Second post in the main forum for this guy since I've been here.

Not even close ... Larry has 38 posts in the main forum since August of 2006, and 153 in total (obviously most were before you registered), according to the advanced search.

If you want to post NPR stuff do it in NPR please, and let the pool related threads stay that way.

A little book review would be most welcome.

Ok, the second one I've noticed. I've had him on ignore since the first one I read in NPR. I haven't even noticed that he had posted here. I've seen the book. Not impressed. Pool Related.

Well ... I'm not finished yet, but it is more of an easy read.

I have Byrnes' books ... at least some ... and he is good, but a bit more boring.

A big difference I can comment on is that with the examples ... usually accompanied by 1 or more graphics ... there is a paragraph or two on if the shot doesn't go correctly but X happened then it's because you did Y wrong.

Byrnes is into how to make shots, but little info on what you are doing wrong if the shot doesn't go as conceived other than try again.

Ya, there are some interesting books with mediocre graphics and diagrams. I understand the benefit of the corrective suggestions after working through shot books that don't offer similar comments. It can be a good thing to work these details out by yourself, but quicker to have a little help.

Thanks for the review.

I'll provide more as I go.

The biggest benefit so far however is that it gives an explanation of how to do the shot and then if you get this (Wrong.) result correct that type of advice.

The player who can pick up the book and run all the drills and shots without flaw doesn't need the book to begin with.
