I'm not sure if Robin is a member here but I wanted to take a minute to thank her for keeping her word and reminding me why I always respected her as a person and a player.
At Valley Forge she had color photos of her son, Drake Bell from Drake and Josh(kids show) and she signed them for my kids and my friends as well. She said to contact her if Drake was in our area at any time.
Well, my buddy contacted her recently because Drake was in MA for a show. She got him front row tickets and back stage passes. Needless to say, his kids were thrilled. Just a classy gesture and one that was made to a couple of strangers who showed interest her son's career.

Although I didn't take her up on this I would like to express my gratitude because you made those boys year with that memory. Matt said Drake was one of the nicest young men he has ever met. You did something right Robin, to have a son like that.

Kindest regards,
Koop

This isn't the first time I've heard of Robin comp'ing pool players with Drake tickets & passes. It shows what a great person she is. I wish pool had more like her.

Robin is a class act and I am proud to count her as a friend. My 10 year old is very fond of her as well. We were privileged enough to receive her tickets to see Drake in Indy last summer and my daughter will never forget it. Drake is awesome and if you have kids you certainly need to make sure that they get to see/hear him. He is definitely a good thing!

Good Luck to Drake in his future endeavors.... he's a talented (and nice) young star.

Robin has always been gracious with her time. Except on the pool table, but that's an altogether different matter :p Her son, Drake, is a geninuely nice down-to-earth guy so I wish him the best in his endeavours. I saw his mug shot on an airplane's tube once which was kinda cool. I told the guy next to me, "Hey, I know that guy; I beat his mom all the time!". :D Well, maybe not, but certainly most of the time (if that doesn't bring her back, nothing will  ).

Robin is a sweetie. She sent me 2 signed posters for my niece and nephew and they were over the moon about that! Thanks again Robin. I'll be sure to visit your booth and bring in more customers for the Frog!

 You may have wanted to add, "at pool"!
This story is the first good thing I have ever heard about Robin! JK!

I was practicing with Robin when she was getting ready for the IPT event a couple of years ago and I can say that she still has all the tools and skills to be right up there today in competition if she wanted to.

However she told me that that part of her life is now behind her and has moved on to other things. She was very much committed to working with her son Drake. It's been a pleasure to have know Robin for many years. I'll never know a more sincere and pleasant person than her.

Robin.....

I first met Robin at the BCA in Vegas about 5 years ago. I was interested in buying one of her "FROG" jump cues. She was very informative and helpful. Her and her husband were having a great time joking with my girlfriend and myself. She is a really nice person to deal with if anybody gets the chance. I did buy the cue and the jumping lesson was thrown in as a freeby.

Robin was the first women I ever saw who played and stroked like a man. No accident she became a multiple World Champion, and member of the HOF. She even won some local tourneys in L.A. that had all the area players in them. And I'm talking about full fields of 64 players.

She was always an intense but very fair competitor. Robin had game! She remains a popular figure on the local pool scene, with everyone happy to see her on her rare visits to pool tourneys.
