Wondering who YOU think will win the "Make it Happen" 8ball round robin event put on by Accu-Stats at Sandcastle this week end?

It's hard to vote against any of these guys.

If I had to pick, I'd go with Efren or SVB.

Like the gentleman above said, any of these guys wouldn't be a big upset to win it. I voted for Mr. Appleton...but my money is staying in my pocket on this one. Johnnyt

Shane wins the first Match over Corey... would say that will add to the no love for Corey bandwagon of voters =)

Absolutely no disrespect to Corey, but if I had to pick one person here to not win, it would be him. When you have five red-hot world-beaters and one regular world-beater, he's the odd man out IMO.

That said, I would still not be surprised to see him win. That's how strong this field is.

As Johnnyt said, money stays in the pocket for this tournament.

Wise man. It's fun to speculate, but people who say "oh, this guy's a mortal lock" or "that guy has no shot" are sitting on their brains.

I can't remember who said this (JS?) but it was a nice summary of what happens when top pros play each other. It went something like...

'At most... there's less than a 5% difference between any of these guys, and one or two rolls are enough to wipe out that difference. It's anybody's guess who's going to win on any given day.'

I went with Alex. He has the snooker background and was shooting with amazing confidence on the 10 foot table.

It seemed that Efren and Corey were both having issues making some shots on the bigger table. Nobody shot extremely well until Alex got up there. We'll see how it shakes out in the end.

All play good, but Alex, really make long shots better than anyone else with his short slow stroke, all others pull shaft too much back and lack some accuracy. For this reason i pick Alex,Efren is my favorite, but his chance of wining is slim due to his break is not to par with young guns.

Naji while your english is a little off your thoughts are spot on with what I saw.... Still can't believe Archer is 2-0 and only has 2 votes

Voted for Alex but I would count DAZ out, you think he may have the most experience with big tables? I know Alex has played alot on them, but DAZ probably ran across one or two himself. JA grew up in south also, he's seen plenty of golf on snooker tables. Of course, how snooker tables and 10 ft Diamonds translate, I'm not sure.

Alex doesn't have a "short slow stroke", he has a backswing directly proportional to the amount of power he will use. There is no reason to pull the cue back 10 inches when you are going to shoot very soft. When he shoots hard, instead, he pulls the cue back like any other player.
With the diffusion of bigger tables and tight pockets I'm surprised not many people are going to implement snooker fundamentals to their strokes. A slow backswing, a rear pause benefit every player because you have a very repeteable stroke. I don't remember who said this ( maybe Steve Davis) "the 80% of stroking errors are on the backswing".

1:00pm EDT - Darren Appleton vs. Efren Reyes

3:00pm EDT - Corey Deuel vs. Alex Pagulayan

7:00pm EDT - Darren Appleton vs. Johnny Archer

9:00pm EDT - Efren Reyes vs. Shane Van Boening

Should be a good day.... We get Efren and Appleton twice!!!

I think other than Alex, Archer is the favorite. He has been playing great lately. Look at what he did on the ten footers in Tunica.

Corey takes down Alex so the front runner has stumbled.... Interesting twist of events... Corey made the 8 twice on the break when they swapped to a wooden rack after determining there were manufacturer defects in the magic racks.....

Please tell me that was at least not a win...
