But how many times do you think that Earl would turn over the 7,8, or 9 to Keith to shoot? Not hardly any, if that. When you get to a certain speed, which both are, getting the tail end balls of the rack just doesn't count for much because you never get to shoot at them.
Another way to look at it, is how many times do you think that Keith would miss after making the 6 ball and not get to the 9 ball if there was no spot?
I think the 6-8 balls are pretty irrelevant for A+ players and above. I would prefer to have games on the wire, which is a sure win, rather than a possibility of a win, depending on how good your opponent shot, and if you got to get a shot at a spotted ball to begin with.
It's pretty obvious you are not going to shoot at all, or get 1 trip to the table in this matchup per game.
