Did anyone get to see any big money games at the Cue Club in Vegas this past week? I was at the Hilton for a whole week but never got a chance to check out the pool halls. I know that Justin Bergman was going around the Riviera asking people to play him on the big tables. Did any big games transpire?

Jimmy Mataya played Marcus for $500 a game with the Six ball. They played for a couple of days and I heard they finally broke even, or close to it.
Archie the Greek got the 3,5,7 and the break from Ronnie Wiseman and one other player and blew about 20 large. That was at Pool Sharks.
We put John Schmidt in the box playing the 12 ball ghost and lost 2K to Archie. Also at Pool Sharks.

Jimmy Mataya was getting the six!?!?!..Hmmm

I haven't heard anything from him in aaagges...

i was hanging out by the boards and this slick looking guy asks me to look at the board to see when he plays. So I say what is your name and I hear the voice say Maytaya. So I look and say Jimmy Mayatay is on table such and such at 7:30.

what I wanted to say is take off your sunglasses indoors and look for yourself. My wife says what was that all about. she thought he just wanted us to notice him. she might have been right

walden vs vanboing?

i heard james and shane were going to play does anyone know if this happened? or what about justin bergman did he play anyone?

Breedlove played Archie one handed-plus givin him the 6 after winning giving him the 7. George was up maybe 6-7 games early and then it was all Archie and Breedlove quit stuck 3 games. I saw part of the match but got the result from Archie the next day for what it is worth.

The 12 ball ghost is major tough. John's a great player, but that kind of spot can wear on you. I saw Gabe Owen playing that game for $250/game and playing it even after some time (I believe a couple of hours). I'd love to know if any pros have outrun that.

Regards,

Doug

Antonio beat it 8 ahead in a little over 2 hours for 2k.

I have bad timing, every time I went in there the place was dead. I did try to haggle with a kid wearing a hearing aid, but I couldnt get him to bite on the spot I was asking for.........

Yep. Ball cap turned backwards. And shorts. He was trying to turn back the years.

A lot depends on the table. Originally they were going to play the Ten Ball ghost on the Diamond table in the pit. But Archie backed out and they agreed to play Twelve ball on the Gandy up above. Major mistake.

Come on Mike, how busy can you be? You have one of those college professor jobs, and it is summer time. So you must have plenty of time to read through the forums here on az! Just thought I would give you some crap.

Shoot me a PM with some info on your time in Vegas. Send me the info on the action and on how you did in the tourney. Thanks Mike. I will do the same here in about two weeks.

That was on the bar tables in the lobby. I heard 8K at 1K per game.

I didn't care to watch it. No offense, Pickles was out classed in that matchup & the result was expected. Somebody came back into the main room & told me that Bobby was down 8 games & had just asked for 2 more so I assumed he lost 10 total. Either way,.... I was actually talking to Matlock at this same time & he told me that one time he was out in California & came across Morro, Dominguez, King Kong and one other Mexican champion whose name I can't remember. He told the four of them that he would play each a 10 ahead set & if anyone of them won, they all won. He told them, put one up first...the rest get some sleep, I'll be here when you wake up. They wouldn't play. :D
