Age Catching Up with Pinoy Pool King

Washed up?

Efren is washed up and has been for years. His performances at DCC every year are just luck.

Give him some weight in one pocket.

So the high level events he's won during the past few years are just misprints in the pool magazines? How did they manage to get videos of him winning that I watch on Youtube? Are they all photoshopped?

Me, too. He's just a nice guy, on and off the table. :)

Hi Jam this the Bondsman. Because I live here in Efren's home town I get to see the real Efren. He is the same humble champion he is when he travels. The Same the same.

Bata.., the Best Ever

I have never, ever seen a stroke with such gentle powerful force that you could not hear when the cue ball makes contact with the object ball. Only Mr. Reyes have that magic.
Very good Lao Tzu analogy by PT109.., he surely knows what I am talking about.

Hey, man, what's happening?! I was thinking about you the other day. I have a bunch of photos from the Carolinas Open, and in particular, I was hunting for that one of your jacket from Philippines. That was so cool!

The photos are on my old computers in the garage, and I need to get them off of there. If I find them, I will send some your way. That was some tournament. We all had a blast. :D

Best to you and yours. Hope you are happy and have much joy in your life. :smiling-heart:

The epitome of class, the standard to which everyone is judged....

Always make me smile, watching Efren play.

Thanks for the thread JAM, nice to see you here again. Best to you and Keith

Maybe you mean Joe Louis:wink:

Yeah, he can't get away with spelling Joe's name wrong...
..." He can run, but he can't hide."

...well, maybe, if he was Carl Lewis..:)

Joe Louis played our golf course, before I was born.
It was a tough little that has frustrated some good golfers.
....he shot an even par 72....man had a swing

Efren will be a legendary name in our sport for generations to come, much like Ralph Greenleaf and Willie Mosconi are now. They'll be talking about him long after we are all gone!

I was joking, he hasn't lost much from his best days and is still world class. Guess who just wonthe accustats one pocket invitational? If they had a Calcutta at the DCC one pocket Efren would be bid up high.

The amazing thing about the Philippines is Efren gets weight in 10 ball from guys nobody outside the P I ever heard of. What's interesting is I don't see any videos of him playing one pocket in those videos from the P I. Evidently they know better than to mess with him in one pocket.

I've thought about this, too. Is it possible that Efren never plays one-pocket at all except when he comes to the U.S. -- and still became the best at it, and remains one of the best at it?

He's a joy to watch. I did note in this recent tournament that he often physically expressed frustration with his failed shots as he left the table -- more than I remember from the past, anyway (but nothing objectionable). Time has certainly stolen a bit of his skills, but he remains a treasure.

I'm so very lucky that Efren and the other Filipino's chose Hard Times as their home away from home for so many years. What a lucky experience for me to have been able to watch him all of those years playing for the love of it while giving people 15/3 and other crazy spots just to be playing cheap games way into the early morning hours. He misses shots now that were automatic for him years ago but still manages to move himself to the win. Amazing!

what cue did efren use at the make it happen event? looks like a titleist conversion or tribute of some sort

Tell Efren to: NEVER CHANGE!
