Alex & SVB Score Thread

Im just guessing but i think most players who play pool at that top level all have backers except a handful,i could be wrong though.

Yes, Yes..

Let me break it down..

What I meant was are they each putting up money, Their own or anothers, or is someone putting up money for them to play for.

As in a company said we will put up an xxx amount and you two can play for it..

Im not sure about Alex, but I think SVB puts up his own money.

Southpaw

I would be confident to say that they both have backers in this game. Maybe some of their own money, but not the whole 10,000.

13-9 Shane. Alex seems to be moving a little bit smoother. He just needed to settle down after his big win I think.

Shane started a bit slow, you could tell he wasn't quite comfortable. He was taking a ton of time on routine shots but he seems to have caught a gear. Alex is tired and you can see it in his body language. He just won the World Pool Masters so he's been playing all day long.

The first few games had some sticky situations. They made their runs but they were struggling through them. Shane has broke and ran several racks, Alex has no break and runs (he did make 5 balls on a break though).

11-6 Shane

Does ANYONE on EARTH have more heart than Alex the Lion?

I sat at JOB's one time and watched him get tortured trying to beat the ghost. He NEVER gave up but I finally did succumbing to fatigue and sick from bad tater tots. When I left Alex had lost 2 or three sets of 7-ahead 11 Ball ghost and was down 5 in the first five minutes of the set I left on.

I heard the next day that Alex ran a 12 pack to win that set. Then he came back two days later and busted the 12 ball ghost.

I also heard that Alex was down to his last barrel and found out later that he had another 1500 in his back pocket and said something like if he had known that it was there he would've bet it all as well.

How much freaking heart does a guy have to play all day, win the tournament and STILL get up and play the money match he agreed to play. None of us would hold it against him if he didn't play tonight.

I vote for Alex Pagulayan for Player of the Decade. As good as Shane Van Boening is doing now he is still playing catch up to Alex.

Two great champions.

13-10 Shane.

You're right JB, Alex should be commended for not canceling this match.

They're still playing? 13-10? I'm gonna go buy the stream right now.
They were supposed to start 4am (my time), good for Alex winning the tournament.

Dang it, I can't purchase the stream.
Hopefully one of the TAR guys can help me out....

I thought it was no jump cues,he used a full cue?

You are correct, no jump cues. Shane has been full cue jumping all night.

Alex won another one.

15-11 Shane

16-12 Shane.

It's late and both players are making mistakes. Shane missed a ball in hand combo, but got back to the table after Alex missed a carom shot.

Wow, I just woke up to learn that Alex won the whole tournament? Is that right? I haven't read this entire thread yet.

Then Alex proceeded to play this match-up with Shane, with Shane winning so far. It is 6:00 a.m. EDT. Man, that is tough to keep up with th TAR matches in Vegas time for East Coasters.

You're a good man, Alex Pagulayan! :)

Yep, Alex won the thing.

Break and run for Shane. 17-12 Shane.

Sorry guys but this will be the last update :( I have to work in 7 hours and I need to get some sleep. I will be happy to post updates tomorrow night though.

Cheers - but I only have a thin net connection out here in Germany right now, so i'm having to rely on the board feeding me scores.
