Alex vs. Archer updates

Archer

Alex's cut breaks are leaving his tables really tough. Johnny's not getting many open looks after the break.

I think both guys are a bit tired and the table is huge.

Johnny played most of the night yesterday, took a nap and has been playing all day today. running around that table? man both of them are probably beat.

Johnny slams the break and cue ball rolls into the side pocket.

Alex has a chance. The 2/9 is tied up. He breaks them up but doesn't have a shot. He plays a great safe leaving JA behind the 9.

Computer don't fail me now!

JA gets a great hit and gets rewarded. Back and forth they go.

Archer has a long shot all the way down the side rail with the cue ball underneath it. He rolls it all the way in. What a great shot. He has a chance to get out and get this to HILL-HILL. He stays pretty much in line and gets out.

14-14

Well I think I'll go to bed now and find out what happens in the morning.

Just kidding.

Jay says "It's now hill-hill so we are going to start over." The crowd is too tired to laugh.

Crowd gives them both a nice round of applause before the final break.

Archer breaks from about a half diamond to the left of the head spot.

Here we go.....

He breaks them absolutely perfect!!!

He has the 1 in the side but has to get on the 2.

I saw the way he was cueing and it looked like he was going straight into the corner with the cue ball. Well he just about did. He leaves himself corner hooked in the jaws of the corner pocket. What a nightmare position to be in.

He tried a nearly full masse but no luck.

Alex calls a timeout. When he comes back he will have Ball In Hand.

Biggest problem I see is getting from the 4 to 5 and then to the 6.

Alex is walking around the table mapping the run out.

He rolls in the 2.....

He has a nice angle on the 4 to get to the 5 but he's not sure what he wants to do. Both players have often overrun position going down to that end of the table.

Alex slices in the 4 and is straight in on the 5....

He fires in the 5 and draws off the side rail to get close to the 6....

He's straight in to the side on the 7 but wanted to use the angle so he rolls it down to the corner. It bobbles and almost hangs up but falls into the corner pocket...

He rolls in the 8 and is straight in on the 9.

He get straight on the 10 and fires it in.

Alex wins 15-14

Great commentary

wrong result. thanks for the LIVE feed.

Alex runs'em out and wins 15-14.

He puts his cue down and shakes JA's hand like a gentleman... He's too short to jump on the table like a retard.

Actually Alex can stand right next to the table with both feet together and jump right up onto the rail, and if you bet him you'll loose your money too. LOL

Why put down a great shooter and two time U.S. Open 9 ball champion and World champion because he shows some emotion when he wins?
I guess you would rather see robots shoot pool, I have to say I find that boring! Congrats to Alex and Congrats to Darren Appleton both World Champions.
EDIT
Rick S, your absolutely correct Congrats to Johnny Archer also for a great performance.
