He aint no slouch but he is definitely the underdog in 10 ball & straight pool.

Americans would be:
Schmidt
Archer
Duel

Foreigners:
Soquet
Neils
and a gob of filipinos if they prepared for it.

OT - Why do the Suns charge you for next years season tickets while this season is still going on? I have never heard of that but things are different in the NBA. I also agree, I wouldn't ever pay $500 for any NBA game - especially regular season.
All NBA Charge mid Season. You have to pay for next season and commit to the playoffs at the same time. I hate it. I mean Steve Nash an Shaq may retire at the end of this season, who knows? Then what do I have I have expensive seats to a ok team. The money I spend actually is worth it for business. You get to meet all the players after the game etc. My clients love it. I agree though that is expensivve,. On the Freezer deal. Like I said I believe that he is in the top 3 in the world as far as one pocket and this almost definatly secures one of the rounds. So all he has to do is be on fire for one of the others. Thats my thinking.

It is to bad Mike sigel, jim rempe, Buddy Hall ,nick varner are not playing alot of pool these days they would drill these guys of today! Especially Buddy he is the best that ever lived for the cash his record speaks for itself. Buddy is top dog even according to the old timers lassister & don willis. Not to mention many other legends compliments. Many of you youngsters have no idea how great buddy was under presure in all games just ask efren! ;) The Rifleman gives his rivals the shakes!!!! :p

It's amazing I get asked that alot. People who I have taken say "hey if you are not using yout seats one night I will take them of your hands" Yeah right. Also they say they will pay face value until they find out it's $500 a seat. You do get free beer and food though:)

When people wont pay a measly $15 bucks for PPV at TAR I'm not surprised they would balk at $500 a seat. I got "invited" to the EMMY's one year and the tix were $1000 for 2 and the limo was another $600. The tux was another $350 and I wasnt even nominated! But there were hundreds of people coughing up that cash. I said never again.

Alex

I don't see why ALEX isn't all over this...... Maybe Alex would want to bet higher??

Is the table some quadruple shimmed Diamond or something??

My favorite player for the cash

If Alex Pagulayan was there to play I would consider putting up part of the money. 25% to 50% of it. I think Alex stands a good chance. 9 ball and one hole he is a monster and he did pretty good at 14.1 at the Derby in some money matches. But he would have to be stone cold sober to win it.

Do not be so sure that Scott is a lock in the one pocket, Danny is a very accomplished one pocket player and has won several one pocket tournaments. I agree the Scott is probably a notch higher but I would not count it as a lock. If you do not think Scott has a fighter's chance at winning the one pocket it is probably a bad game for you. Just my thoughts. I would like to see Scott play Shannon or Chohan in one pocket, banks and 9/10 ball.

I agree. I was at Derby in 2002(?) when he beat John playing straight pool......and he doesn't mind action for any amount of money!!

We all know that people have bad nights a bad game etc. I do agree with you though on thinking about it. I still think that in a good even game Scott would take the 1p and that he would be close in the others. I would really be betting on Scott having a good night to come close.

I would love to see it, I just have not clue how much Scott has played straight pool and I think if he feels he has not shot at that game then it is a bad bet to play an all-around when you are basically starting out in the hole. If Scott has plays sport straight pool then it is probably a good game to fire at. Put him in the box and I will see you there since I live in KC:) :) :)

Based on the last two weeks you should probably hope for Shaq's retirement.

Danny Harriman is the current TAR All-Around Champion. The boys at TAR have been diligently trying to find him an opponent for 4 months. So far, no luck.

Here is the deal:

Staight pool race to 400
One Pocket race to 10
10 Ball race to 30

$10,000 entry. Winner take all. To be held at Side Pockets in KC, MO.
The format and location are NOT negotiable. At this point, we need to know if ANYONE is interested under these parameters.

Who in the WORLD would like a shot at this? Serious inquiries should contact Chad at TAR. We are simply trying to bring GREAT pool to the Kansas City area. That's cuz we got the CHAMP!

There is one guy I would like to see take you up on this. A little guy named Alex. I like Danny and I like his All Around game, but I give Alex a slight edge at One Pocket and Ten Ball. And Danny may have a slight edge in 14.1. If they play, I would take a piece of it just to see it go.

One other player issued a similar challenge to the world several years ago and never got any takers. Shannon offered to play anyone 9-Ball, One Pocket and Banks. You might consider substituting Banks for 14.1 and I think Shannon might still play. Just a suggestion.

A couple of tough games for Danny. What do you think?

Alex is the match for this format ( and would probably have no problem getting the backing) he beat Danny at DC in the 1p this year, one of the best one pocket matches I've ( or anyone ) has seen.........has anyone approached him, Tar maybe?

Danny is without a doubt one of the best all around players. So is John. The first match was very close. It was asked but not answered why John doesn't get a rematch, especially if he has the money.

There's a thread in the Straight Pool forum re John's new DVD and the runs he's had lately in 14.1 . He's apparently in dead stroke. Is he playing too well to be allowed in again ? Just asking...Tom

The better player

Jay as usual you are dead nuts right on this one. I even think Alex would have to be a pretty big favorite in this format. I don't see Danny beating him in the one pocket or the 10 ball.

I don't think anyone has mentioned probably the best American all around player GABE OWEN. Although a match between Alex and Gabe would be tough, I think either one is a big favorite against Danny Harriman.

Gabe just won the Derby City 1 pocket and finished 2nd in the all around. He is a US Open 9 ball champion. In the recent Qlympics in Nov. 2007 he finished 2nd in the 14-1 (Harriman finished 5-6), he was 2nd in 1-pocket there and 5th -6th in 10 ball. He won the US open 1 pocket in Vegas a couple of years ago.
Straight pool is probably his weakest game but he is a big favorite I believe in 1 pocket and 10 ball against Harriman. Against Alex he is favored in 1 pocket and Alex might be a slight favorite in 10 ball and who knows in straight pool. (Oh and there is that little one-pocket challenge win he had at Derby City where he ran a few balls.)

Someone should get in touch with Gabe, I know if I played as well as he does I would be drooling to play the match with Harriman.

Bet whatever you want with Gabe against Danny in an all around preferably on the high side...

Alex vs Danny would be an awesome match. Both have an extreme amount of respect for each other's game.

I'm surprised Corey isn't getting in on this. He comes from the northeast and I have first hand knowledge of his 14.1 game! I'd say he's a favorite in 9/10ball, and the other 2 are a push IMO....

You could put me down for a dime. I like Alex's side of it alot, if he can last for the duration.

It still surprises me that hardly any of the Europeans have serious one pocket experience. Souqet would be a monster at these all-rounds if he'd been playing one pocket for a number of years.

I agree that Alex is probably the best bet right now. Efren and Busty would probably do ok; Efren doesn't have to lose at ANY of these games if hes playing well. He ran 141 at straight pool on one of my tapes and he made it look easy. 10-ball is even at best for Danny, and of course Efren is a huge favorite at one pocket.

Busty plays one pocket well but I haven't heard of him playing much 14.1
