He shouldn't promote a game he knew was a failure because he's a roll model to MANY aspiring players you all pretty much told me to shut up JA is the best BLAH BLAH BLAH. The point is, it's time pool players took a stand with leaders who actually care about each other and the game. About bettering the game long term, not some short term gain.

I think we all know what happened here. Players were clinging to an idea that the figured wouldn't do well, BUT A LONG SHOT IS BETTER THAN NO SHOT!

With Blotto Ball, Johnny is trying to build a fence out of Jello.
The intent- to make pro pool a viable career- is there, but the material is crap.
I think it was a mistake for him to choose to get involved. IMO, he loses a bit of career credibility jumping onboard with any new venture that pops up.
But what are you gonna say about the Man? Pool has been his life for decades, he still plays top-notch pool and I believe he wants the best for all 'pro' players.
If he started responding to forums, he'd never get off the AZB. And why would he jeapordize his relationship with his 'employer' :slap: to appease us?

Let me get this straight, you are faulting Johnny Archer for trying to help Bonus Ball launch. Even if he wasn't optimistic about the chances he still was a participant and was trying to help it succeed. If anything that should show his determination to help the game of pool in general.

Bonus Ball may not have been "good," however, I would bet any man it's leading to something VERY, VERY good for professional pool and the players. Sometimes the road leading to the "Promised Business Land" doesn't go straight and may have some bumps and curves along the way.
Isn't this true in most cases through history? (it is from my experience} Looking back at my life, some of the apparently "bad" experiences turned out to be the very best, and I'm sure not to be the only one, take this farmer for example.....

(Well said CJ.). We shouldn't all contribute to bashing Rackemup20. Indeed, he took the time to post and we should respect that. Perhaps Rackemup20 has his own frustrations (as we all do) toward BB—no doubt, we want to see it succeed.
However, Rackemup, understand you should never try to vent frustrations at the expense of anyone. No matter who it is.
JA is a role model and simply put himself out there. That's what leaders do. They do what they can for the industry. It's really like playing pool....let's use 14.1 as our example....you just ran the rack and are faced with a difficult break (and continue) shot. You have a hunch you are going to miss, but to play safe would not be the best option....so you show a little heart and desire and shoot the shot, but alas, you miss. Now all is not lost...Just remember, chances are you WILL get another inning.....
Johnny owns the Marietta Billiards Club in Marietta, GA. He is in there shooting quite frequently.... I see him most Thursdays that I'm in there. He's very friendly and will talk to anyone.
