well allison needs to learn that the younger players are sharper then she is she is getting to the point were she gets too sure of herself allison is thanks:cool:

It was difficult to parse your non-sentence sentence but you are absolutely WRONG. Allison is one of the most mentally tough pool players in history and she NEVER gets too sure of herself. And sure as HELL not when she gets knocked into the one loss bracket after her first match and then faces Sarah who is a talented, determined and scrappy competitor.

Congratulations to Sarah!

Regards,
Jim

WPBA.com reports that Iris Ranola has beaten Ga Young Kim 9-8, meaning in Fisher, Thornfeldt and Kim, she has beaten three former US Open Champions, and 1994 US Open champion Jeanette Lee and 2003 US Open Champion Karen Corr are joining Iris in the last eight. Hey, you never know. Of course, every match is a very tough one at this stage of the game.

Jasmin fell to Jeanette 9-3. Jeanette must have caught one hell of a gear...

If Jeanette's back was healthy 100% of the time she'd be in the top five 100% of the time. Even these days on the tour when ever other one is a champion. Johnnyt

When was the last time Allison Fisher went 2 and out?
I think Allison is a great player and person. The lady players are getting stronger and it will be harder for her to stay at the number one spot, but I don't think she'll go 2 and out again any time soon.

PA,
After JL's major surgery in 2004, she has not regained her previous form (and has played about 70% of it since then). She has had another recent surgery, and though she never makes excuses, it has definitely affected her play. I have always admired athletes who perservere in the face of physical handicaps; and in my view JL's handicaps have been huge, and her performance more than admirable - an example of how sports can reveal the true character of a player.

In short race 9-ball, though, anyone can win; and Jeanette's top gear is as good as, if not better than, anyone on the tour. She has been practicing more than usual the past 6 or 7 months; so go Jeanette!

Pam Treadway is now Pam Cimarelli. Lucky google search.
I thought that might be here, good to see her back.

Wow lots of interesting upsets in the 1st top 16 round! Mainly Ga and Xiaoting falling to Iris and Yu! It looks like Karen and Kelly are the only ones with a chance to take the number one spot from Alley now?

I sure hope Iris doesn't let the shark she plays next get to her, I would like to see that ship sink!;)

I'll tell you what. You've got to play pretty good to get to the final 24 of a WPBA tour stop. Just take a look at the brackets. I wonder if Aileen Dimmick is the former Aileen Pippin? And who is Pam Cimarelli? Never heard of her. Alice Rim is having a good run too.

hi LA slim,
Around 5-6 years ago I told pam`s parents that I see a future American champion in their daughter. But Pam has not progressed the way I anticipated.

i am happy to see her in the last 8

Congrats to Jeanette Lee for making the TV rounds. Also congrats to Pam for taking 5th her eirst tournament back. Johnnyt

I might actually watch this one on ESPN. Finally some new faces to see on the WPBT.

If Vivan Villareal beats Kelly Fisher, the final four at the US Open will not have a single player ranked in the top ten, which I'm sure would be unprecedented in WPBA history.

They mentioned that this was Pam's first time on TV. Didn't she make the quarters of the US Open a few years ago, losing to Vivian? I believe that match was televised.

Yeah- She broke and ran her very first rack on TV in that match, getting bad on the nine and slicing her in.
