Darn, Kelly wins after Vivian misses a straight-in 8 ball in the final game.

Looking forward with interest to the semi finals and hoping that the gracious Miss K Fisher will triumph and gain the No1 Rating for at least a short while.
It's quite an exciting year 2008 and, the redoubtable Miss A Fisher has, (this outing excepted), shown remarkable tenacity in holding onto her position, for those doubters of the Duchess - Tish! Never write off a member of the aristocracy.
So toodle pip, I will be visiting the brackets and updates throughout the evening through my monacle which is masquerading as a computer.
Cheerio

I would give details about the run-out hill/hill, but I really don't remember! I know I made two balls on the break and only one ball was touching a rail. It was a simple out that was made tough because of the circumstances. Me being me, I left myself a little long on every shot. The story said I was calm but believe me, I was nervous as can be! I have to also say Allison was not her usual self. She made more errors in that match than I have seen in a very long time, if ever. All I had to do was hold it together and capitalize. I know and everyone else knows, she will not play like that again.
I'm happy to have one such a tough match, but I really wish I would have done better. Tiffany was a fighter and fought her way back after being down the whole time to win the match. She played great.
Thanks again everyone. Everyone has been very supportive for many years and I really appreciate it.

Allison Fisher has won five of the last seven WPBA titles (with Corr and Pan the winners of the other two), although it will be five of the last eight by the end of today. The WPBA is presently an eight event per calendar year tour, so this stretch represents a full year of competition.
How this could add up to anything but a #1 ranking for Allison is hard to fathom. By every reasonable measure, it would be fair to say that Allison has dominated on the tour of late.
What is wrong with this picture?

After JL's major surgery in 2004, she has not regained her previous form (and has played about 70% of it since then). She has had another recent surgery, and though she never makes excuses, it has definitely affected her play. I have always admired athletes who perservere in the face of physical handicaps; and in my view JL's handicaps have been huge, and her performance more than admirable - an example of how sports can reveal the true character of a player.
In short race 9-ball, though, anyone can win; and Jeanette's top gear is as good as, if not better than, anyone on the tour. She has been practicing more than usual the past 6 or 7 months; so go Jeanette!
