Just got a post card from tournament director Peter Burrows about the field for the tournament at Diamond Billirds in Midlothian VA October 22-25. The list of players includes Appleton, Corr, Feijen, Immonen, Peach, Shaw, Hohmann, Ekonomopoulos, Morris, Van den Berg, Dechaine, Archer and many other great regional and international players.

Stop by if you are in the areas. Last year they had a free live stream. Check out the Diamond Billiards website as the tournament gets closer.

Looks like the US Open 9 Ball has value for a couple more events in drawing international players this year . Maybe if events were coordinated regionally this same scenario could work out across the country . You don't need an organization , just a couple of promoters working together for their mutual benefit . I'd say from the list Thorsten would be the early favorite .
 
Very nice list. So, it starts tomorrow and still nothing definite on streaming. :shrug::scratchhead:

Oh, ok thanks. Just seems odd, nothing advertised in the streaming forum, where everyone wants to make notice of their streamed events. No listing of schedule. Nothing regarding PPV cost... nothing.

IMO. This is far more interesting an event than any9 ball. No wonder nobody plays the game. LOL. Its a secret. :thumbup:
 
Is this a new tournament? I never heard of it before. Is it the same as the US Open 14.1? What are the tournament entries and specifics? Thanks!

Some of the worlds best players. I have a feeling a lot of pros love to play 14.1 but play other games because there isn't as much money in 14.1

I'm going with Thorsten Hohmann to win, I'll even put $20 on him.
 
This used to be the Maryland Straight Pool Championship which was also Peter Burroughs creation. Since he doesn't have the tourney in Maryland anymore, he changed the name and located it in Virginia.

I think last year was the first year under the new name and location.

Ah, that makes sense. That was a great tournament. Glad to see its still going on. Thanks for the info.
