There's not a day goes by that I'm satisfied, unless, I try to improve and share my knowledge and experience with those that are appreciative. It's done wonders for my state of well being, and peace of mind.

Keep your head up and maybe we can hook up when you move to Waco. I had someone try to make my Gold Crown play like a Diamond, all they did was improve it (the rails they used were worth the expense), they didn't do what everyone says you can do.

Moderators, I'm asking you to let this thread run for your own feedback and for the health of the boards. In my opinion, you just made a mistake.

Why on earth would you ban Poolhustler (Russ), who never causes problems and is an absolute stand-up guy, when he merely responds to a royal insult from RKC, who manages to insult everybody?

In my opinion, if Russ is banned, RKC should have been too. However, if I were making the decision, RKC would have been banned for throwing the first stone, and Russ would have been warned.

Opinions?


(FYI Russ knows exactly what he is talking about on this subject and has spent many thousands of dollars properly setting up his Gold Crown.)

I second what TATE said, Russ is a great person all around. I stopped posting on this site a long time ago and coming back I'm surprised that this ban system is still biased and makes no sense sometimes.

Russ was being helpful to another member, and RKC with his massive ego chimes in and tells him that he is "FULL OF SHIT". Russ's response was in the same tone, and they both used curse words (OH NO! BUT WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN! PLEASE! SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN!). We're not children here, we can handle the language. Ridiculous that it's fine for someone to chime in out of nowhere and say that another person is full of shit, and if another person responds in the same tone, only the person responding gets banned.

That's absolute bullshit, and I'm sure the moderator realizes it.

uhh...and by the way, YES I did rebuild the rails worked on by the number 1 pool table mechanic in the country and fixed them right as the pictures I posted were of the same rails the number 1 pool table mechanic in the country worked on last. Now, you have to admit, being ranked at only number 15 in the country, I didn't do to bad of a job fixing the work performed by the number 1 ranked pool table mechanic in the country. but like the old saying....practice makes perfect, so I'll keep working on my skills and maybe I'll get a better rating some day soon....LMFAO

Well, maybe you should consider the number 1 table mechanic in the country to work on your rails as Mark was only ranked at number 3, while I was ranked at number 15...LOL here's what you get with the best! Hot glue to replace the missing wood at the ends of the sub-rails, hot glue behind the extentions to correct the pocket miter angles....well, to kind of correct them anyway, and no worries about the staple area, 1/2" staples will still hold the cloth on.

Being Humble is quite often the mark of a Craftsman, Artist, Master. Know why? Because they don't consider or refer to themselves with any of those titles. They just use their natural talent and many times, don't think much of it.

A person that plays guitar, for example, by ear, doesn't understand why
everyone can't do the same. So, to them, they have no special talent.

Do the best that you can do and let your work speak for itself. And your customers of course.

Be a teacher. If someone makes a remark to you that you don't particularly like, isn't it easier to ask them why they feel that way. Maybe they just don't understand at the level that you do. Then, when and if, they give you an explanation, you can better figure out how to correct them. Turn it into a learning experience for them.

Much better than telling a person that they are full of shite and don't know what are talking about.

Chances are, you might get a thank you instead of an, "Go Eff yourself.

Glen, a couple of times, you have asked me exactly what I contribute to the forums.

Well, what do you contribute? Are you here as a source of learning, teaching, to those that don't know as much about tables as you do.

Or, are you here to show people how much you know and how much others don't know.

Big difference.

You can be the best at what you do and be forever recognized as that, or if you treat people with disdain, people will remember you as a Dick Head pool table mechanic.

If it matters to you at all, which would you rather be remembered as.

Everyone needs to take at least a 1/2 hr out of their day to find their Spiritual side and unwind.

Merlin's magic is one of my favorites. Of course, you probably didn't know that I am also a 3rd degree Reiki practitioner. As well as Quantum Touch. To me, that just ramps up the energy, if you use both at the same time. I have used Steven Halpern's Chakra Suite with ear phones when working with someone. That will usually put a person into another dimension in short order.

And when I say Reiki sites, that isn't where I received my 3rd and final attunement. I had a very good local Master that worked with myself, one on one. Other than books, I found the net to be a valuable source.
Of course, one has to do a little weeding to get to the edibles.

Thru Reiki, I already had, what I call, an accidental Kundalini Awakening. But, obviously one can better understand it if they were to practice Kundalina Yoga and have a Master draw that out in you.

Anyway, Mark sounds like an interesting person. I will Google him and see what else I can learn. Other than that, he does look like he could give Steven Segal a run for his money.

It's funny you should ask, as I've spent years teaching and working with many, many other pool table mechanic's to help them improve their skills to do better work. I hosted a traiining seminar for Simonis and had 70 table mechanics show up for three days of teaching. I've made the Simonis DVDs for world wide distrabution which have helped countless pool table mechanics around the world understand how to do better work, especially with installing Simonis cloth. Now, what you don't hear or read...is NOT one single negitive comment from another pool table mechanic in this thread or any other threads about what I've helped others learn, nor do you hear one single pool table mechanic making a comment about me thinking I'm a god of pool table mechanics! I wonder why that is, yet all of you are so fast to try and belittle me that it seams that's all you know how to do. Watchtz tried to insult me by posting a list of the top pool table mechanics of 2014 by Pool and Billiards or something listing me at number 15....where's that thread now? There was no such ranking that took place, yet he still lied when he posted the tread as it being truthfull, so...why did he do that? People seem to think they KNOW what I'm thinking and post that they do know, are they mind readers or something? People here on AZB talk about Mark being the best, and tell everyone to send their rails to Mark to have them worked on...yet, they fail to send their OWN rails to Mark...because they're to cheap to do so themselves....why? It's ALWAYS the same posters involved in any thread that goes sideways from the original post...how come?

Interesting thread, I'm sure Russ is flattered.

I play on Russ' table weekly. It plays great EXCEPT for balls hit down the rail with even a little pace. Popular opinion is the balls should drop, like they do on most all other tables. The pockets on Russ' spit them out with regularity. It's not quite as bad as the Olhausen Death Rattle, but close. This tells me the pocket angle is too great or the down angle isn't great enough. Is it possible the table was done incorrectly by the mechanic referred by RKC? Possibly. All I know is it plays a little off but still a good playing table.

This can't be true cause if RKC trained them, there would not have been an issue.

Funny, when the real truth is posted RKC can't come up with some file pics of what he claims is or is not his work or someone elses for that matter. Cause the truth hurts. And we all know what to believe when the words come from a guy that had a customers rails for months and months and lied about it continually. If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it must be RKC.
