For the last two months in BD George Fels has talked about the article ?Anatomy of a Pool Hustler? by Dale Shaw.

Does anyone know where I can find this article? I have done some searches on Google but have not had much luck.

Footnote 2 on page 43. Wow, if you can figure that footnote out, then you may find the source. :p

I can't tell if it's Esquire magazines, Sports Illustrated, or The Magazine for Men that the article is in. Maybe it's none of them. :embarrassed2:

The article is in Saga;The Magazine for Men, November 1961, pp.52-55 continued on pp. 91-93. Good luck finding the magazine; it was one of a number of blue-collar men's magazines that folded in the 60's and 70's. Others were True and Argosy.

Few libraries carried these magazines but some copies show up on EBAY occasionally.

If Jam couldn't find it it's going to be hard to find. Doesn't George Fels post on here every so often? Johnnyt

George does know the link, but if you are interested in old pool articles, I have collected 22 articles from Sports Illustrated from 1954 to 1976. Including a couple of Tom Fox renditions. Go here.

I got a copy at Amazon.com recently for $3 plus shipping. It is listed now at Amazon.com, but not currently available.

George posts here too. Apparently I got Shaw's two articles reversed, but Tom in Cincy is right; you can catch up with the Jersey Red piece in that anthology. I thought Shaw wrote on Red in Argosy and Luther Lassiter in Saga, but according to M. Holmes it's the other way around, and he sounds like he knows what he's talking about. GF
