EDDIE TAYLOR & THE LEGENDS OF POOL...DVD 2 HRS. 5 MIN.
I had such a good time with my book givaway that I want to give away five copies of this DVD. All you have to do is register your name on this thread.
The piece begins at the BCA trade show, with testimonials about Eddie's prowess with the cue from other champions such as Steve Mizrack, Grady Mathews, Jim Rempe and Minnesota Fats...along with others. Then, it segues into Eddie's Hall Of Fame induction. Then things take a turn for the worse that not many people know about.
The excitement of the weekend was too much for Eddie and he had a massive heart attack. By the time he arrived at the hospital he had arrested. After six minutes of shocking the doctor wanted to quit, but his wife, Violet, insisted he continue. After eighteen minutes he came back and the doctor was sure there would be serious brain damage. Not so with The Knoxville Bear. He could remember everything.
I beat a path to Shreveport, cameras in hand. First, Eddie takes you into Bill Schick's pool room and shows some banking tips and his perfect, powerful stroke. I composited 37 of his banks together to show what his high run would look like. Then we went to Eddie's home, where I sat off camera and asked questions and he tells you what it was like on the road in his day and the other champions he hung with. We'll run the contest through the 15th of the month. It's a documentary like no other.
Good luck and keep it nice. Alfie
