There aren't any real pool rooms in Cuba. Many, but not all hotels, have a billiards room with a couple of pool tables.
Pool and billiards (or "carambola") were and are looked down upon by the communists as being an affectation of the "social parasite" classes. There are a few pool clubs but they are members only and not advertised. There are also a few tables in private homes..leftovers from the pre-revolutionary days. The lack of replacement parts and cloth not to mention money to buy such things means that most of the tables are in a sad state. :frown:
The above is just one of the thousands of reasons why I hate communists so much, and Cuban communists even more.
A walk through Havana is sad, the once beautiful homes and buildings have been reduced to crumbling unsafe eyesores by the lack of even the most basic maintenance.
As far as crime is concerned, there really isn't much. Tourists have been robbed and injured, but it is an extremely rare occurrence.
