Anybody knows what cue Corey Deuel uses?

I have hit balls with his cue once, Kim Davenport handed it to me, I asked him who's it was he didnt know, we were in the players room at the M. Cup. that cue is amazing!!!!!! just amazing, I felt weird that I didnt ask for permission, I figured it was ok since Kim handed it to me.

About 5 years ago at drexeline I asked him 2 questions what stick should I buy and how tight are the TV pockets ?
He told me buy a Predator 314 shaft ! most of the good players are using them!
he then said he would like me to buy the stick he was being sponsored by the 5280  (I think at the time ) but with a 314 shaft ?
He stated really any butt is ok!!
He also said the TV tables had loose pockets!!
He is a great player and a gentleman!!!
I followed his advice and bought a Webb with a 314 predator shaft!
Now if only???

Didn't see it stated, but his cue has a 314 shaft on it if I am not mistaken. I know he sanded off logos while I worked there because we wouldn't pay him for his endorsements, he could have changed to another short-ferruled shaft but I haven't heard of him doing so.

I find it hard

to believe that a pro like Corey is using a LePro tip when there are much better tips out there.

Be careful... Cory will put sumpin up side your forehead:grin-square:

It's true.

He told me that the flatter it gets - the better he likes it.

He showed me his tip, it was like the leather was sliced thin at a delicatessen - there was very little leather between the chalk and the ferrule.

He says that is the way he likes it.

Holy Cow Fartsniffer, I dont know how I missed that before but the line by Louie Ulrich in your signature is the nutz!!!!!!! Man that is funny!!!!!!!

Rafael Martinez is the same way. His "new" tip was thinner than I ever play with.

And just the way I like it too!

Just FYI

This Cue Survey thread in the IPT section also lists the same cue and shaft. I will quote the full tally post here, because it is pretty interesting.

Gotta update Strickland. I don't think you will ever seen another Cuetec in his hands again. I'm not positive about his cuemaker but I think it's Gulyassy. That 20" taper he has is sweet! Oh, and Earl swears ( a lot!) on Elk Master tips. They're even cheaper than Le Pros! But man, he can do amazing things with them. Earl does his own custom 'tennis racket' wraps.

Yes, he does play with a Gulyassy. I saw him a couple weeks ago and that's what he said. No one is updating that thread. It was from when the IPT was going, so I am sure a lot of those are no longer current. Just thought it would be interesting to read.

update..

He told me that the flatter it gets - the better he likes it.

He showed me his tip, it was like the leather was sliced thin at a delicatessen - there was very little leather between the chalk and the ferrule.

He says that is the way he likes it.

I have come to find that most all of the better players you will see prefer their tips this way, super thin, CD, and SVB comes to mind as well. Apparently you can get more action on the ball? It kind of makes sense too, to have as little as possible between the shaft and the cue ball.

Has anyone else out there noticed any difference between having a chunky tip, and a thin one?

I had a roughly 10 year old Le Pro on my shaft, and it hit super. I just got it replaced as there was maybe 1/2 mm of tip left and it was just no good when using a low hit. Luckily the tip I put on ( a Med Hard from a guy that maked tips on here, he offered free tips for just shipping ) hits almost exactly like my old one.
