Anyone have a hard time listening to Scott Frost in the MC?

I watched a few more games of the Mosconi this event with Scott. I think he is less "forced" than he was during the last event, and what I based my prior comments on in this thread. I give him 1.5 thumbs up.

When they first started streaming several streamers tried to get me in the booth. I refused. I have a face for radio but no talent or a voice that would do well on video. I would lag minutes behind the action.

A friend does work the booths a little. He speaks well but still had to work at voiceover to do
it well. One of the reasons I like snooker video better than pool is that the people in the booth probably say over 50% less and that is a big plus.

If you are sporting the same face you have in your thumbnail you should be doing civil war reenactments. I have a modified version of it but everything is a cotton ball now

He was acting like this only a few months ago.
How often do we reset for new chances?
Must be nice to be so perfect. WTF??????????? He's commentating on pool not running for sainthood. I could tell a few not so good tales about Buddy and Grady but wtf would it matter? Answer??? It wouldn't, they were two of the best ever on the mic.

The face is much the same but the hair and beard look like winter camo now. Of course one of the advantages of the beard is that it has been decades since I have seen my face!

DOW Plaquemine is a huge plant. Over sixty units, most as big or bigger than a city block. One Tuesday they announced that effective the following Monday there would be no beards in DOW. I asked my boss to please have my check ready for that Friday. He came around several times to ask if I was serious. I was. Come Monday there were a lot of strange faces in DOW, in as lot of homes too! People had been married twenty years and more and the wives had never seen their husband's faces!

My favorite commentator of all time is Freddie Bentivegna. I bet there are a lot of “stories” about him. Ha ha. Agree, none of that matters.

Far from perfect, there were threads very recently about how Scott treats players and less we forget the most recent foul or no foul. It's my opinion a few people share it, a few don't.

Never met SF and don't travel in player circles. I can see the "one of us" assist he's getting on this thread which ok, pro unity or whatever... To me, he doesn't come across as the pool authority he is. Sounds like the teenager trying to make a good impression; guarded and even insincere.

I wish Earl was in the booth. He really does a good job. Find Mataya and the party is ON!!!!!!! ;)
I think Earl said he only likes doing commentary by himself- he did a very good job with the Billiard Network with dubbed over commentary of past matches

I guess from here on out all pool commentators are gonna have to submit to some butthurt ethics/morals test. Good luck with that little venture.

Got to say I really enjoyed his commentary. Both what he says and his voice. I'm not very familiar with his antics though, that might help.

I think Scott could be great at commentary, but he's not there yet. Mainly for the reasons that have already been mentioned but here's my list of things that could make him great (call it constructive criticism).:

- He should lighten up, smile a bit more
- Make eye contact with the people he's speaking with (he seems like he's looking for something in the back of his head)
- Stop forcing the little sayings (This could be what the doctor ordered!)
- Work on his inflection. He has a lot of awkward pauses in the middle of his sentences and changes the tone of his voice in some weird spots. Window's Open podcast pointed this out too. Once you hear it, it's difficult to look past it.

Again, this is a list of things I think can make him great. Not a bash post. He's got a lot of knowledge up there and it'd be sweet if he could express it better.

I’m confused about this being brought up, because having watched the video of that foul call, and having read Scott’s comments afterwards addressing it, he was nothing short of gracious and got props for that. He went out of his way to respect his opponent in fact.

Could very well be but i can't stand his commentary.
Not meaning to argue, but what is it that seems to be 'fingers on a chalk board' for you...? I really don't mind his commentary, so I'm genuinely curious.

I for one hate Accustats commentary. Mic volume so high you can hear them sucking on their gums, and continuously horrible call on player's patterns. I actually avoid accustats because of it...lol

As far as Scott in the booth goes. I really enjoyed his insight, and he made a solid habit of predicting outcomes.

I'd like to hear those...

I could hear him but couldn't stand watching him... His counterpoint looked professional and Frost looked like an American sack of potatoes. When will we ever learn???
