Anyone have experience getting a cue that wasn't what you wanted from a cuemaker?

I bought this cue and the taper is all wrong. I bought it from a cue maker that I will not mention, and was told that the taper would be 47 inches long (I prefer a taper much longer than this). Well even though I knew I wouldn't be happy I bought this cue anyway (I am currently without a cue).

I first picked up the cue today and the taper is all wrong and not as advertised. Who would purposefully do this (tell me the taper is 47 inches when it is obviously much shorter)?? This taper can't be much longer than 37 inches (I prefer 50+ inches).

The thrift store I bought the cue from won't give me a refund and I was just wondering what would you do in my situation (remember I am nearly without money and this cue doesn't make me happy)

Change your stroke. I recommend a modified snooker stance with a swift stabbing motion. Go and study some bowling videos to get your arc down, a long swooping motion terminating in the quick stabbing motion I mentioned should do the trick.

If that fails, turn the stick around and try shooting with the fat end. You might be surprised.

If you also find the shaft is sticky, I would recommend a lubricant. Preferably something petroleum based and flammable.

Some people just like to gripe. That is one of the nicest thrift stores and I buy all my cues there!!!

This is one of the reasons why this forum goes to shit...

Yea that guy made a thread and got blasted, probably rightly so... But then someone who has nothing else to do in their time makes this sarcastic thread...

Almost kind of like high school...

I am sorry for my terrible behavior. This is a serious place and I should have known better.

I salute you for taking this matter to the brain trust at AZ billiards. Surely they will offer you comfort and solace. Or maybe they'll just give you some sticky stuff to put on that nasty taper.

ok, ok

U got had, I'll help, my lathe is setup for a 50 inch taper, but I can shorten it up 3 inches if u just have to have the 47. Since u have mo money, I will accept, gold coins, diamonds, or a corvette.
