been playing pool for more than 35 years, 1 pocket, bank, straight pool, 9 ball & 8 ball. moved to central america and they have a game i did not know before. called "15 ball"......goes fast as there are only 6 balls (10 thru 15) and the 15 ball is the winning ball as in 9 ball. rules are the same as 9 ball, the 15 being the winning ball and you must call the 15 at anytime. the rack is the 10 in the front, next the 11 & 12 and the back three has the 15 in the middle. try it......pretty good fast game..the $$$ goes faster for sure.

sorry, i have not heard of 6 ball........must have been established while i was out of the usa for many years.....my favorites are still 14.1 & 8 ball.

Used to play 6 ball 45 years ago in some pool halls in the South.

Just like 9 ball but faster.

This is just the game you play on a coin op table after you've played 9-ball.

Yep...6 ball.

it still gets played some around here non coin op tables.

Its just quicker then 9....faster action.

Fifteen ball is played with 15 balls. It is the rotation game prevalent in the Philippines .
The game the you speak of is 6 ball.
It is what you do with the other 6 balls after you are done playing 9 ball on a bar box.

i know a called "14 ball"......goes fast as there are only 6 balls (9 thru 14) and the 14 ball is the winning ball as in 9 ball. rules are the same as 9 ball, the 14 being the winning ball and you must call the 14 at anytime. the rack is the 9 in the front, next the 10 & 11 and the back three has the 14 in the middle. try it......pretty good fast game..the $$$ goes faster for sure.

I want to invent a game called "13 ball"......goes fast as there are only 6 balls (8 thru 13) and the 13 ball is the winning ball as in 9 ball. rules are the same as 9 ball, the 13 being the winning ball and you must call the 13 at anytime. the rack is the 8 in the front, next the 9 & 10 and the back three has the 13 in the middle. try it......pretty good fast game..the $$$ goes faster for sure.

What do ya' think?! :)

P.S. Sorry for being a smart arse...just having a little fun.

Come on old timer i bet you played 6ball before,i hope u r not losing it,your pool stroke that is !

3 Ball, what a game! I've probably won more money playing 3 ball than all other games combined...people just don't realize how much they're losing until they're nearly bust...plus, there's a lot of strategy involved in bumping rounds (tie on purpose) to keep the pot climbing, and novices are drawn to it (they think it's easy) like a carney game.

6 ball is really a "huster's game". Any B or A player should be able to break and run out a 6 ball rack with decent regularity, it's a good game to roll bangers with. (Of course, I haven't gambled in over 20 years, so what do I know!?) :o

These aren't bad but not nearly as good as the game that I've invented where only the first 6 prime numbers are used (1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 11).

The prime number game is great...we called it "prime ball" back in the day, but if you want to play a really challenging game play "Fibinacci ball". You have to make balls numbered in the Fibinacci sequence (1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21) etc. as you can imagine it's played with A LOT of balls on a huge table, usually 8' x 16'....loads of fun.

rackem, I thought Rotation was the big game in the PI's.

I like to play the Black&White Game. Cue ball on one spot, 8-ball on the other. Make the 8 and you win. Very fast as it is a one shot game. Winner breaks, lots of suckers fall for it.:o

great way to get gambling started in a bar

When nobody in the place would play for even a dollar or two a game back in the seventies and eighties I often got the spot to spot shot bet started at a dollar a shot. I always added "without scratching" just to give them something to think about. I've went from nobody willing to play a game to a handful of guys shooting the spot shot at a dollar a pop sometimes a dollar bet with each person in the ring on every shot.

Being a true gentleman when it was just two of us I always let the other player go first!

Not to hijack the thread but...

Rotation (AKA 15-ball) is played virtually everywhere here. Get away from some of the more well known pool venues, and it's probably the only game you'll see the locals playing.

My understanding is that Rotation and 15 Ball are two different games. 15 Ball is played like 9 or 10 Ball (not sure if it's call shot or not though) with the last ball (15) being the money ball.

Rotation is a point based game with each ball being worth it's numerical value. The total value of the balls is 120 points and the player that scores 61 points is the winner. It is this game that I thought was big in the PI's.
