Any good weekend amateur tournaments coming up in the next couple months? I'm thinking about coming out for a few days & hanging out at Hollywood Billiards.

It would be nice to see some of my AZ friends in the area like Tate, Bamadog, Poolhustler, etc.

Last time I spent a weekend playing there I had a great time & got into some fun cheap action with several AZ'ers.

You might want to reconsider & think of Hard Times in Bellflower. They do have a popular tournament that I believe is the 1st Sunday of every month.

First weekend next month works for me. Never been to Hard Times though.

Hard Times is where Oscar & John Mora matched up.

Real easy to find - it is in Bellflower at 17450 Bellflower Blvd and only approx 2 blocks off of the 91 freeway. Google it when you get here for directions from where you are staying

I am quite sure you can get some action there :D
 
Sorry to say, not much is going on here. Just a few weekly tournaments and the first Sunday of the month tournament at Hard Times ($800 added), which draws a few good players, is always on. Since you have not been to HT, you really should go at least once.

There will be a $6k added at Hard Times (Sacramento - NoCal) on the weekend of Oct 9th. There's a good bet that will be full of good players.

Jay and Russ are both in the Philippines at the moment.

I'm gonna try to make one of the first Sunday tourneys at HT, either October or November.

Depends on my schedule and the schedules of my friends in the area.

Hope to meet some new AZ'ers too.

Bad news - still no word on when Hollywood billiards is re-opening. They are remodeling right now. I just called their number and no word on a date on the recording. Charcoal went belly-up. Now I have a new favorite neighborhood pizza joint and bar - good stuff - best and most creative Pizza in Los Angeles.

The first Sunday of the month tourney at Hard Times is fun, short races, double elimination, always good players there. I have a number of commitments in September and October but I'm planning on playing at the Hard Times tourney Oct. 3rd at this time.

1st Sat of the month is the 1 Hole Tournament at HT and as stated the
1st Sun is the 9 Ball. Nice room, good equip including 3 6' x 12' tables and 6- 3 Cushion tables.
 
Tournaments

I would think that in L.A., as big as it is, that there would be all kinds of good weekly tournaments going on.

Got my ticket and I'll see you on the 3rd of October at Hard Times if not sooner.

I arrive Friday morning (Oct. 1st) so I'll be in town the whole weekend. Let me know if you have any free time.

Hope to see other AZ'ers as well.
 
I guess that you will miss the So Cal Ladies Tourney at the Hard Times tomorrow.

They had the first annual Tad tourney with a Tad cue as a prize last week or so.
I missed it..I was out of town.

AZ Poolfest II

This one is being held at my house on Saturday (the 2nd). Warm ups will start at 2 PM with the main event (eight premier players) starting at 4. You can watch it all; the good, the bad and the ugly at poolroom.com/azpoolfest. This will not be a TAR match by any means and the one little camera won't be the greatest. But hell, neither are we!

Like Joe Rogan said, "Pool is a beautiful game played by ugly people." Well, here we come, like it or not. :thumbup:
